Who the fuck goes to North Korea?

What started out as a budget tour to Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, has stretched into an extended stay for 21-year-old University of Virginia student Otto Warmbier.

You get what you pay for.

On camera, Warmbier said he stole the propaganda poster on behalf of a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church in Wyoming, Ohio, who wanted it "as a trophy." In exchange, he would receive a used car worth $10,000.

Video also showed Warmbier pleading for his release and breaking down in tears, calling the incident "the worst mistake of my life."

Really? The worst mistake of your life was stealing a poster?

That dude must throw terrible parties.

"Hi, I'm Otto Warmbier."

"He doesn't even have warm beer. Fuck it, let's go to a bar instead."

I think most people associate the idea of a mistake to what happens because of it.

If you slip on the sidewalk while looking at a woman and get your head run over by your car, that's definitely the worst mistake you ever made. Doesn't matter that you were fucking your brother's wife the whole time and never got caught.

And really, I don't care if the guy was 21, this was a pretty dumb thing to do. How many "don't touch or do anything outside the lines - this culture doesn't think like we do" sessions did this guy sit through and then try to steal something. Type of dude that would get us all infected with an alien virus because he had to touch the slime with his gloves off, or go back down into the basement of the serial killer because he left his phone there.

I think the worst thing he ever did was take a vacay in a fucking police state. The poster theft's like pneumonia killing someone with AIDS. The conclusion is foregone because of something worse that happened before. If he didn't get nailed for taking a poster, I'm betting it would've been something else.
