I never knew that getting hepatitis made your immune system stronger. That's fascinating.

I think it has something to do with being a dirtier person in general. Their immune systems are more robust from being used a lot.

"Another explanation, which is not mutually exclusive, is that people with higher tattoo experience might also display reduced IgA suppression after tattooing, similar to elite athletes who habituate to moderate and high intensity exercise stress over time."

It's true, usually when I see a person with tats I think "elite athlete."

If "competitive eating" is a sport, than "getting repeatedly jabbed by a tiny needle" is legit.

So acupuncture really is a valid form of medicine, as long as the needles are dirty?

FDA has not approved any tattoo pigments for injection into the skin. This applies to all tattoo pigments, including those used for ultraviolet (UV) and glow-in-the-dark tattoos. Many pigments used in tattoo inks are industrial-grade colors suitable for printers' ink or automobile paint.

It's also worth noting that the tattoo study used only 29 participants and only 5 of them were men, that the effects manifested as positive only in people with multiple lifetime exposures (a.k.a. tats everywhere), and that the type of people predisposed to this level of tattooing might just have naturally-higher immune systems from living roughly, as GORDO suggested.

Do not buy or order online do-it-yourself tattoo removal products. These acid-based products are not FDA-approved and can cause bad skin reactions.

Who the FUCK buys those?

Secondly, I think that if ink was going to kill someone...

He has tattoos covering his entire body, including the insides of his eyelids, mouth, ears and foreskin. He has held the certified Guinness World Record since 2006, being 100 percent tattooed.
