Once, the table was set for dessert so haphazardly that my spoon ended up next to my water glass instead of my plate.
I know that's probably a huge thing, but I can't imagine anyone actually saying that sentence except in the most New Englandy, WASPish accent imaginable followed by the remark, "Dear god, I think he was a Yale man." It makes me think that professor from Gilligan's Island wrote it.
