Fantastic Four trailer

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Saw it over the weekend.

It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but it wasn't anything incredible either.

I think the main problem is that there's just too much storyline to cover in 90 minutes:
-The transformation
-Dr. Doom's motivations
-Ben Grimm's tragedy
-Sue and Reed's love story
-Johnny's life
-etc.

It's just too much for a single film.

Plus, the casting was really questionable as Reed and Doom were almost twins.

Michael Chiklas was good as Ben, but nothing close to his performances on The Shield. The guy playing Johnny Storm was good. And Jessica Alba stripped down to bra and panties and there's nothing wrong about that.

The guys playing Reed and Doom, not only looked alike, but they both had forgettable performances. Had they not been clones, the guy playing Reed might have been able to get away with it. Although, he was still waaayyyy too young.

As for Dr. Doom, he was too young and too "unDoom-like". Doom is a brilliant bastard. He'd stop torturing someone for high tea. The way he was written in the film made me think he just had teen angst.

Overall, it was an acceptable, but by no means memorable film. The sequel may fare better if they can get someone onboard that knows the characters and how to write for them.

5 out of 10.

You won't hate it if you see it. Although, it will naturally be more popular with men and kids than with the ladies.

It's funny you say that. My kids had a hell of a time telling them apart. They kept asking me who was who. It really annoyed me but I guess they weren't the only ones to have that problem.

The guy who played Reed was totally miscast. Reed's supposed to be flexible. This guy's acting was wooden.

Personally, I hated the movie.
Wadda mean? Other people can read this?!

Jessica Alba's IMDB says she'll be doing Fantastic Four 2 & Sin City 2.

I'm looking forward to the latter.

You really should see Into the Blue, total crap movie but god damn the cinematography was pure genious. It was like one hour of how can I shoot more of alba's ass.... underwater. :D

I'll have to rent that then.

Mil, Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About guy, has no taste.
I do not fancy Jessica Alba. This is a problem that must be addressed, because it's an issue that could otherwise get out of hand. The trouble is, she's obviously intended to appeal to me - the geeky, Internet male - and at first glance, one says, 'Yes, Jessica. You're female. You're under eighty-five years old. And you're given to playing plucky women in off-beat/sci-fi settings. Climb on.' But, when you really look, she's simply not very attractive. What's more (and this is the crucial thing - it's what we have to nip in the bud before it becomes the norm), she's not the first. Jennifer Garner - Alias; martial arts; red wigs; cool; she's very... Hold on. No: she actually looks like her face was stopped halfway through being morphed into Frozone from the Incredibles.

He does like Alyson Hannigan, but to say Jessica Alba and Jennifer Garner aren't attractive is pretty stupid. Even if they're not your taste, you still should be able to recognize beauty.

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of his girlfriend.

Yeah. I could even understand not liking one of them, but both?

So in his mind, she's hot,but Jessica Alba isn't?

Yeah, he's a bit warped.

I think Margaret is hotter than Jessica Alba. However I think Jennifer Garner is hotter than both of them, so I'm not entirely in agreement with Mil there.

Alyson is very hot.

But no one is hotter than Janeane Garofalo. She is perfection embodied.

To each his own, but based on his preferences, I'm going to have to say that his opinion about JA and JG don't speak for men with "normal" tastes.

Alba is the only Hollywood chick that I'm totally flipped over. I've just never gotten that worked up over them before. I can watch them and say, "yeah, she's attractive" but not have them flip that switch in my head that just makes me stare and drool no matter what they're saying or doing. Alba's the exception to this and I'm not really sure what makes her different.

Garner isn't a bad looking lady, but something about her looks has always seemed a little "off" to me. I think it's something about her jaw-line. The best I've ever seen her look was one of the few episodes of "Alias" I've seen where she was wearing a short wig. I gave her jaw line a more pronounced appearance and looked pretty good.

Oh, wicked, bad, naughty, evil Jessica Alba! Oh, she is a naughty person, and she must pay the penalty - and here in Casa DTMan, we have but one punishment! You must tie her down on a bed and spank her!
