They didn't have any weapons, but planned to get them. Due to that fact, this could have been kids being stupid and just discussing their violent fantasies out loud.

I've already told my kid, "Don't even joke about it, someone WILL react," and they probably should, because you just never know. I think a 1% chance is enough to ask questions, at least... but then my tolerance for "how much crazy is ok?" is pretty low.
