Fear the Walking Dead

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I dunno.

The cynical part of me thinks they should call this, "Watch People Make One Bad Decision After Another."

I have it on DVR.

I've heard good things as well as bad.

More action behind the camera than this show plus the original put together over half a dozen seasons.

I have yet to watch a single episode of season 2 of FtWD. I have them all DVRed, but I find the cast to be pretty shitty. There's nobody I'm rooting for and wish they would all die. The black guy with the boat is the only person who seems to have a clue, so I'm sure he probably dies quickly in season 2.

Who should I be rooting for aside from him who was on two episodes? The dad who is a pacifist and won't even attack zombies as they attack his family? The daughter who is all emo and angsty? The drug addicted son? The neighbor who tortured a soldier for no reason?

If I can't get invested in the characters, I can't get into the show.

The drug addict son ends up being somewhat interesting. I start liking them, then they make him kind of stupid again. I like the old Hispanic guy. And the wife and I were calling the black guy "the debbil" during the first season. He just had this cool way about him.

The wife and I are having a really difficult time getting into this show. We dragged through the first season, and while season two started with a great premise they've done basically nothing with it.

To top it off, none of the characters are any more likable. The kid who is arguably the "hero" is one of the most ridiculous characters in TV history. He's a heroin addict who suddenly has kicked the habit, shows himself to be the most wonderful human in existence, but will always try to steal drugs at every opportunity, then never show any signs of being high or withdraw.

And this will be a mild spoiler, but you know what you shouldn't do with the most unlikable cast in TV history? Have them start murdering innocent people, not out of self defense or necessity, but just because.

I will still give this room on my DVR to watch when I'm playing games, but my wife is pretty sure she's done with it. I do want to point out that we both still love The Walking Dead, but this pales in comparison to that show.

I'm really hoping Kirkman is setting this group up to be completely killed off. Something he wanted to do with Rick's group around issue 50, but didn't pull the trigger...
