Man claims KFC served him fried rat. Check out the photos. It's clearly chicken.
How long before laws are enacted that enables corporations to go over folks who do stuff like this on social media that can financially harm a company?

Hopefully never.

As expected, it was chicken.
Also, yes TPR, I'd say it's libel.
Back in the days of no interwebs folks could talk smack or make shit up and only their friends heard it. Now someone can try to sully a brand publicly and get press for it. More damage can be done. I expect at some point a company is going to sue someone for damages.

Oh, it happens almost weekly that some company or other is suing someone for a review they left on yelp or whatever. Well, at least sending notice that they must take down their review or get sued.
Unfortunately the problem isn't that there aren't enough companies protecting themselves through legal means, the problem is that frequently these threats are made against legally protected speech. That doesn't apply in this case, though, I don't think.

I don't ever see those lawsuits.
In most cases, like if someone said "I don't like Taco Bell" or "McDonald's has bad food" or other such opinions, nobody should be able to sue.
When someone tries to run a scam that drags your name through the social media mud, like pretending a mouse was given to you with your fried chicken, you deserve to get sued. (Unless it turns out that he was just that stupid.)
