This story popped in my head during the gender discussions but really didn't have anything to do with the discussion so I thought I'd put it in its own thread where people can share similar stories they might know of.

Someone living near my dad apparently own a peacock at one time. I don't know if the peacock escaped or the guy freed it or he died or what, but the peacock went AWOL from the farm.

He took up with a flock of turkeys in the area. Makes sense I guess. They are similar in how they live. Mostly ground dwelling roosting birds. But it was funny to see. Every so often you'd see the turkeys making their way along the creek and the peacock would be right in the middle of them like he belonged. And as far as the turkeys were concerned it seemed like he did.

Imagine if that peacock had just been a dick, and the turkeys didn't like it. Then the turkeys would be bigoted. Wink.

They may have just considered him as their Liberace. "He's kind of an odd bird, but he's entertaining enough."

Plus, in nature there's no New York Times or other left wing media to call the turkeys out for their fowl behavior.

This is a bit more common than you might think. Here's an entire cat species that thinks they're dogs.
