Jasmine Rice

I've been eating white rice for decades but always went for the plain, long-grain Carolina Rice. But the other day that shelf was empty and all they had was Jasmine Rice.... which I always passed over because plain ol' rice was good enough for me, dag-gummit, and eating something called "Jasmine Rice" would have made me look citified, and like I was putting on airs.

But goddam, this stuff smells great when cooking and even tastes better than regular white rice.

So the question is, am I gay now?

Like just right now? Probably not. I'd wager it happened years ago.

Try Basmati. The two have been hybridized.

It's an unfortunate name, but this isn't hippy rice. It's Thai. If you've ever been to a decent Thai restaurant, you've already had jasmine rice.
