Female Navy SEALs
By 2016?
As long as they don't drop the physical requirements to get into the SEALs just so that some asshole politician can claim a "win" once a woman gets in, I have no issue with this at all.
However, the second they lower the requirements so that they can let someone in, man or woman, who otherwise wouldn't have made it, then fuck them and fuck that person.
I'm sick and tired of the PC lie that we're all equal. We're not. Science proves it. Get over it. Accept your strengths AND your weaknesses. Stop putting other people in danger so you can live a lie.

I can see them lowering the requirements the same way they've done for firefighters and police officers just so a woman can pass, and they can parade her around for photo ops.
I'm sure someone dying in a fire because the female fighter can't physically carry them out will be happy knowing how politically correct their local fire department is...

Last article I read about the most recent woman to fail the USMC IOC said that the Marines need to make the everyday physical standards for woman Marines tougher so they are better prepared for the more advanced stuff.
Male Marines bi-annual Physical Fitness Test consists of pullups, situps, and a 3 mile run. 3/40-in-2-minutes/28-minute-run is the minimal accepted score for those things, but god help you if you only squeeze in the bare minimum. 20/80/18 minutes is the top score. They always forgave my 26 minute run times because I always had my 20/80.
Women don't even do pullups, they have a "flexed arm hang" for X-number of seconds. I can't remember their situps/run requirements, but one imagines they are lesser than the men. I bet a google search would tell me, but who cares.
Anyway, like I said, the latest chick who failed IOC also failed with about 20 men, and she said the Marines should be harder on women in general to make them better.

Well, more specifically none of the women who have tried have passed. I'm absolutely sure there are some few women out there who could, but none of them have been interested in doing so yet. They're too busy doing things like being in the Olympics.GORDON wrote:That is to say, they haven't found a woman who could pass it, yet.

It's not me, it's someone else.
I almost mentioned that Demi Moore was now too old to pass, up in my other post.TheCatt wrote:Well, they found one, right?GORDON wrote:Chicks can't even pass the Marine Corps infantry officer course. No way one is gonna pass Seal training.

12 pullups, ooh-rah! Of course, she only weighs 65 pounds.
In related news, there's this.
Lady, I guaran-damn-tee you that every last Navy Seal can front squat 363. Yes, that's an awful lot of weight, and kudos to Sarah Robles for doing it. Hell, myself I can only back squat 315 (and that for just 1 rep). But you see...
Oh you DO know about distributions. Well how about this: there's less than 10% overlap between the male and female distributions, with 99.9% of females falling below the male mean. That puts the male mean at about +3 sigma relative to the female mean.
So: one in a thousand women is as strong as the average man. With a +3 sigma advantage, when you get to "elite" levels, say top 2% of men, that's +2 sigma for men, +5 for women. Which is quite literally 1 in a million (actually closer to 1 in 2 million). That means that there's MAYBE 200 in the whole damn country.
But SEXISM!

Take the news cycle about removing the no-combat rule for women in the U.S. military, in which dozens of reporters uncritically repeated various military units’ contention that women were not physically strong enough for their combat positions.
I was listening to one such story when I read a tweet from Sarah Robles, the Olympic weightlifter. She often tweets things like:
Front squatting 165 kgs/363 lbs is a good way to wake up in the morning—Sarah Robles (@roblympian) May 15, 2013
I’ll bet most of Seal Team 6 can’t front squat 363 lbs. Somehow, they assassinated Osama Bin Laden anyway (maybe with the help of, I don’t know, guns and helicopters?).

Sure, women are, on average, not as strong as men. But strength follows a bell-curve distribution in both sexes, and for all but the most incredibly elite steroid-fueled few men, you can find women who are just as strong.

A 360 front squat would be rather impressive for a high school wrestler. Back squat? That's way more common. But, for comparison, Brock Lesnar wrestled for my college. I don't know what he could do in that area, but I bet he could do 360. Any respectable male college wrestler in a Div I school in a heavy weight class should be able to.GORDON wrote:Yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember some of the wrestlers in high school squatting that much. Male wrestlers. In their teens.

We had a few wrestlers win state back then. One went on to wrestle for Harvard of all places.
And our football team has been undefeated for about 5 years. Players joined as Freshman and graduated as seniors without ever getting beaten. No idea why our little school out in the farm fields is producing these kinds of athletes. I assume drug testing happens so who knows.

85 Marine chicks recently passed the enlisted Infantry School. That shit is no joke, they have my respect.

Seeing those packs on their backs makes my feet hurt. And since they are women, that is probably 70% of their body weight, on their backs. Like I said, respect.

The Marines will march with 100-pound packs, mount an attack that will include tanks, then dig a defensive position. They'll practice pulling a wounded Marine to safety. They'll crawl over obstacles. Climb mountains and cliffs.

Don't worry. Robots and exo-suits will be handling that shit in a few years. Right, G?GORDON wrote:http://usmclife.com/2015....erimentGORDON wrote:Chicks can't even pass the Marine Corps infantry officer course. No way one is gonna pass Seal training.

I am certain there are some women who could. I think I could even name a couple of famous ones. But finding one that can and wants to is something that has not yet happened.GORDON wrote:That is to say, they haven't found a woman who could pass it, yet.

As a matter of fact, Marines already have a few pack-carrying robots in the field, testing them.Malcolm wrote:Don't worry. Robots and exo-suits will be handling that shit in a few years.
