Clicker Heroes
Just did my second ascension. I now have three ancients (Dora @ Lvl 2 and Juggernaut and Vaagur @ Lvl 1), 15 banked hero souls, and six gilded heroes.
I haven't gotten higher than Frostleaf on the heroes yet. The cost jump from Frostleaf to Dread Knight is insane.

I've been playing longer than both of you, yet I haven't ascended once and only got past lvl 100 today.
Clearly I'm doing something wrong. Although I really don't "play" much. It's typically running in the background while I work and I only play at work.

It gets much easier with each ascension. Well, as long as you do it right.
My first was early this morning after letting it run all night without me, at level 117. The main thing is to then dump all your cash into leveling up all your cheap heroes as high as you can to maximize hero points for the next run. I got 7, two of which I spent on ancients and 5 I kept for the DPS bonus. It ran all day and that let me do a second ascension right before that post up there at level 157.
That second time through the first 30 levels flew past on their own without slowing down (after your first ascension there's an option for the game to keep going up levels without you having to click them). This third time through the starting spring didn't slow until level 60. Those hero point bonuses are huge.
EDIT: During those early level "sprints" I wasn't completely hands off. I was leveling up as quick as I could click the level buttons and triggering skills when they were available. Just to clarify. But the levels flew by.

Wow, TPR's made it further than I have. I did my third ascension yesterday at 149. I've got 29 hero souls now, and am back up to Level 132, so I'll be ascending again this morning.
Leisher - Once you get the best skill each character has, don't bother leveling them up again until after you get Frostleaf up to 100. then get the lower level ones up so you can get more souls.
Yes, once you "buy" ascension, you ascend.

It's not me, it's someone else.
Frostleaf is the next champ available to me.
I'm on lvl 111 and should easily get to 120 today.
What's frustrating is I just beat 110's boss, and got another Gilded hero, but it picked the exact same hero as the first time I got a gilded hero. So now he's a 2X gilded hero.
I realized I did make a mistake yesterday. I was leveling lower tier characters instead of the highest tier guy. This was barely moving my damage, so I wasn't moving up levels and making money as fast. First thing I did this morning was power level the highest tier guy and cash is pouring in because I could move to a higher level.

I've used Dark Ritual every time it's been available. Which has been twice. I ascended both times before it became available again.
And oh yeah it's absolutely all about the latest and greatest hero. I don't take a hero past about level 10 until I've got at least eight newer heros below them. Those first ten levels of each hero are more effective for DPS per gold spent than all the levels beyond that combined.
That changes around the time you get to Midas, though, because the price curve starts to spike and you really need to start picking up skills by then to advance past the bosses. That's where I start leveling up to each one's last skill with only a couple of heroes below them purchased. Then at Frostleaf is when I start leveling everyone and ascend.
I don't know if I'll ever have the patience to get past Frostleaf.

The # of hero souls goes up, finally, at level 155. I got +4 for beating a primal thingy.
I'm going to try 160 as well, why not. I got treebeast to 1000, trying to get Brit there too, but it may be just a bit too far to reach.
I spent some souls on ancients. Not sure it was worth it.

So I'm at lvl 121. I have Frosty at lvl 1 and I'm only 3,500S away from being able to buy the Dread Knight.
Do I level up Frosty or just buy the Dread Knight first?
BTW, Treebeast was Gilded, so that'll help my early game I guess?
Nevermind, I'm not 3,500S away. His price is in "U". Wow.

Once you max out frost to level 100, tree becomes relevant again as you will want to upgrade him to 1000 for the next damage boost. There is a big boost at level 1000 for each character.Leisher wrote:So I'm at lvl 121. I have Frosty at lvl 1 and I'm only 3,500S away from being able to buy the Dread Knight.

I wish I hadn't spent my souls though. Probably should have just kept accumulating them to 100 or more.
It's not me, it's someone else.
I still haven't' ascended.
I guess I should probably do that tomorrow during lunch? I'll be between lvl 130-140.

Not bad, but now future ancients are more expensive to summon.TPRJones wrote:Spending souls on ancients really depends on the ancients you get to choose from.
For only 3 souls (base cost plus two upgrades) I've got 20% off skill cooldowns. That's something.
The first one I got is 25% gold when idle. That's OK.
One I have does +11% per level to soul DPS (which is 10% per soul, so basically, it's +1% DPS).
Then I have two that help with click damage.
Do either of you use a click bot at all?
