For major parts of the year that giant orangish/redish area is stuck inside blasting heaters and eating cheese.

Also the roads are terrible and my further theory is that the constant commute on shitty roads slowly wears down the psyche.

Shitty roads aren't the problem. It's the shitty drivers who don't understand how to fucking drive on them. Like the fuckhole of a truck driver that caused a mile-long traffic jam and almost a couple accidents. Because his ass couldn't be bothered to move to the "I'm a slow retard" lane.
