The Legend of Hercules - 2014
These fucking fuckers tricked me into watching their "me too" movie. I thought I had DVRd The Rock's version, but then I got this. Bunch of no-names, moderately bad CGI. About 40 minutes in I asked the wife, "Geez, when does this guy turn into The Rock, already?" Then I said, "Oh no....." and figured it out.
Fuck these people.
Fuck these people.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Ah! So that's what that was.
I had "Hercules" on my DVR and after about 15 minutes I stopped it and dumped it. Then I saw a thread saying it was good and was very confused. Now I know why the differences in opinion.

There's Hercules and The Legend of Hercules. Avoid the second. This is precisely why I hate producers that pull this shit. May their parasitic asses rot in hell.

I don't think that version of Hercules is "The Asylum" level of piss poor replication is it?
If it is, then yes, shame on HBO.
Isn't it more like Olympus has Fallen/White House Down? Or Armageddon/Deep Impact?

It might be a notch above asylum, but that means they spent 50 cents on the cg instead of 25.Leisher wrote:I don't think that version of Hercules is "The Asylum" level of piss poor replication is it?

Hercules, starring The Rock, John Hurt, and Rufus Sewell. Directed by Brett Ratner, who's got the drug habits of the great '70s directors but none of their talent. Guess even blind squirrels find nuts if they do enough lines to dig up the entire field.
Released July 25, 2014 (summer blockbuster time). Budget: $100M. Take: $243.4M.
The Legend of Hercules, starring Kellen Lutz (some dude from Twilight) and a host of no one else you've heard of or ever will again. Directed by Renny Harlin, who occasionally makes films so bad that Brett Ratner comparatively looks like Stanley fucking Kubrick. Exhibit A. Exhibit B.
Released January 10, 2014 (flop time). Budget: $70M. Take: $61.3M. Ouch.

Out of curiosity, and because my PC is down, I watched this film.
Holy shit is this movie bad.
