Zoolander 2

The surprised spectators rose appreciatively to their feet (and then left).
I wonder if the crowd really dissed them, or if the author is just a dick.

Boycott.
An online petition created by Sarah Rose is urging for a boycott of the Ben Stiller film because of a new character played by Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, a supermodel named “All.”
Rose writes, “In the Zoolander 2 trailer, an androgynous character played by Benedict Cumberbatch is asked by Zoolander and Hansel if he is a ‘male or female model,’ and if they ‘have a hot dog or a bun.’ Additionally, Cumberbatch’s character is clearly portrayed as an over-the-top, cartoonish mockery of androgyne/trans/non-binary individuals. This is the modern equivalent of using blackface to represent a minority.”

There is just not enough of that character in that trailer to make any sort of judgement on that point in the slightest. These people are either entirely opposed to trans characters being acted by non-trans actors or are just making wide swaths of presumption about what the character is going to be like and getting made at their own ideas.
Ridiculous.
Ridiculous.

Re: Zoolander 2
This movie was worse than I thought it would be, and that's saying something.
As for "All", I saw nothing wrong with the character. The blackface comment is beyond ignorant. Hey fuckface, Jamie Foxx isn't blind, but he did a great job in Ray or do you think that was offensive to blind people?
