I was just thought about logging in the other day to see what my new race/sex was.
I kinda want to see the apartment buildings.

Re: Soccer
Some of our possession down a man in the second half was a beauty. Just heading the ball to each other in tiny windows and keeping the ball controlled with excellent first touches and dribbles into space. Didn't even recognize the team. NEVER seen them to that against actual competition.

I think we can beat Belgium without Balogun. We have other in-form strikers who can score. Just need 1.
It's our super athletic young midfield that has been tormenting other teams anyway.
Not easy, but doable.

True, I’d take the minimal casualties surrender over the other option that was floated, digging in, invading the entire Iranian coast, and having to see American soldiers on suicide drone footage feeds on the regular like we see in Ukr/Ru.

Re: Iran
We didn't have to pay war reparations after Vietnam though? Losing Vietnam didn't upset the entire system for modern petroleum commerce?
I think. It was a while ago - so maybe I'm wrong.
At least in Vietnam they took the weapons we left behind and immediately used them on China. That was a silver ...

I guess I'll wait to see the full deal, if it's even signed.
But uh... it appears the largest unforced error by a President in American Geopolitical history.
Achieved absolutely nothing.
I guess we lost more soldiers in Vietnam/Afghanistan but we never paid them 100s of Billions in war ...

Re: Project Hail Mary (2026)
This was fantastic in movie form.
A good book carried by a top of the line performance from Gosling. His best movie for sure.
e: biased as a Gosling fanboy, he also great in Bladerunner and Crazy, Stupid, Love

Re: Iran
It's genuinely a flip of the coin.
The king of hyperbole vs a country run by asshats who can never "look weak".
It took me longer than it should have to figure out who was who in this analogy. State of the world, and the US!

Reading too! Like it so far.
Nearly done - I thought that the first book is too short for the story that they are setting up, so good to hear there are more to come.
Guess i'll order #2.
*unfinished scared me, but it's just book 8 of the series to come this year, and it already has a cover made ...

About to a foot in Manhattan. Pretty neat on the street and sidewalks. I went to the local law firm's office mid blizzard yesterday morning.... and the intense cold exploded a pipe above their elevator banks. There was waterfall coming out of the elevators. It was like something out of a wild ...
