Randall Wallace, who wrote Braveheart and wrote and directed We Were Soldiers, is going to write a screenplay for Atlas Shrugged.
Hoo boy.
I dunno. I just don't know. The book is far too long to be made into a movie. Now, I've got like 3 degrees of separation from Wallace (my wife's good friend from high school works for him), and I've met him and he seems like the nicest guy you could ever meet.
However, I'm pretty sure he's a really religious guy (this article says his favorite book is Lewis's Mere Christianity). Ayn Rand was an athiest. In fact, she pretty much hated religion. So I always have to wonder whether a really religious person "gets" Rand. Now, I don't think he's planning to intentionally invert her theses, like whatshisface did to Starship Troopers, but I just am not getting a warm fuzzy from this news.

Ayn Rand? Bleh. I don't wish to endure one more second perceiving her Objectivist shit.
Coward.
Maybe, but a coward not reading or watching Ayn Rand bullshit.
