Peter Weller, Stacy Keach, Lori Singer, Alexandra Paul, John Rhys-Davies. 1993.
The previous two statements should tell you all you need to know about this film. There might've been something of a plot involving an internat'l crime smuggling dealie thing, but it's lost in the maelstrom of bad acting, half-assed dialogue, terrible sound engineering, a script that makes "Saw" look intelligent, and directing of the most incompetent levels humanly imaginable.
The only bright spot in here is Weller, who does a decent acting job playing an alcoholic, yet resourceful & clever private investigator. I suppose I might acknowledge Rhys-Davies as doing the next closest thing to acting, though he alternates among Irish accents, British accents, & some other accents which are a combination of the other two. He does it on damn near every word. It's like taking a trip across English-speaking Western Europe in one sentence.
Verdict : 1 star. If your table is uneven, buy a copy of "Sunset Grill" instead of a piece of wood to rectify the situation. Why? Wood is a valued commodity that has been indispensible to civilization for years. It can cost money. "Sunset Grill" is the antithesis of wood. Someone might pay you to take it away.
