Yeah. Wife said so.Wait... you went and saw this when you could have seen Batman Begins? It's True Lies combined with War of the Roses.
Exactly.
Which reminds me... I knew I was forgetting to do something, today. I meant to catch a Batman matinee.
There were 3 60-year-old women in the theater in front of us. One of them was half deaf, and the other 2 women had to keep repeating lines for her.
This proves that some people go their whole lives without learning YOU AREN'T SUPPSOED TO TALK IN MOVIES, it isn't just kids.
And, they smelled funny.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
True Lies was one of the dumbest things ever shown on a screen. I can't believe Leisher liked it based on how he finds and talks about plot problems, lack of believability, etc. She drops a gun and it shoots 30 terrorists while missing her and her husband? Ummm. Ya. The ONLY thing worth watching in that heaping pile of crap is Tom Arnold.

It depends on the tone of the film.
True Lies was tongue in cheek, so having plot holes and moments that could never happen was part of the fun.
When I rip a film on these things its usually because the film is taking itself seriously, thus I expect more in those areas.
I wouldn't rip Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure for its use of a phone booth as a time machine, but I will rip something like XXX for a scene in which the hero snowboards faster than an avalance and then grabs a metal pole to save himself because it played itself as serious.

Finally saw this film. It was entertaining, but about as shallow as a film can be. No backstory to any of the characters, their agencies, their bosses, etc. The only backstory provided was to how they met.
Having no depth isn't the film's biggest problem though, as it has no ending.
Also, Vince Vaughn's character was completely pointless. And doesn anyone else find it interesting that he did this film with Brad and Angela, and now he's doing a film with Jen Aniston and is being linked to her romantically?
Anyway, it's entertaining, but make sure you leave your brain off.
I would only give it 5 out of 10.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith - Really good movie. Oh, there's a few things that are a bit unrealistic, but I'm willing to let that go completely because of the way this movie delivers the action. In the midst of every heavy-duty action sequence, even though the action is fully covered it is the coresponding dialogue and storytelling going on in the midst of it that is the real focus. It's presented as if the director isn't really impressed with all the action going on, and its really a good romantic comedy that happens to be set in the midst of gunshots and explosions. Very well written, acted, directed, edited, and scored.
This is true, and now that I just read that (after writing the above) that's annoying me. But until you pointed it out I was okay with it. So I'm sure I'll get over it.
