As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

If my wife has seen all but the last 4 episodes of Firefly, will she be missing anything in Serenity?
Might possibly go tomorrow.

Nope, she'll have what she needs.
Go see it. Please.
Have you avoided spoilers?

I'd recommend shutting down your computer until you've seen it, just in case.
Can't be too careful.
Also, unplug the phone, turn off the television, and don't listen to any idle chatter at the theater.

Damn shame that they put so much characterization and MUCH cooler space battles in this one little movie than Lucas managed to do in the entire Star Wars prequal run.

.......... I wont say it makes no difference. I think I enjoyed the movie more because I was more immersed in the back story.
The 'Book' character will be a mystery if you didn't see the series, but that doesn't stop the movie.

Everyone I know who has seen the movie cold also liked it very much. They had two points of confusion: how the characters of Book and Inara fit into the crew. But these are very minor points and only led them to want to see the series to find out.

True...... someone seeing it cold might not even figure out Onara's profession.
Or Book's, for that matter.

I also liked the fact that Whedon (sp?) kept the movie... pure. It was his first movie, and you know how movie studios like to push around the new peeps... "What fans REALLY want to see are more slow-motion car chases and explosions!!1!"
I didn't see any compromises in this movie, and I didn't see really any parts where it was dumbed-down.
Which MAY be why it isn't doing well in the box office.
But it's still easily one of the 2 best movies I've seen this year.

The whole Wil Weaton connection has me doubting this film.
I think he's a putz and Alien 4 was asstastic.
