George Clooney in space.
Its funny that I had to type "spoilers" as I don't believe there can be spoilers for this film.
Essentially, Clooney is a shrink of some sort, I think(?), who gets sent to an outpost in space to help deal with some problems the crew is having.
Once there, his wife shows up and interestingly, she's been dead for several years.
That's the beauty and problem with this film. Its very interesting and has a great premise. Unfortunately, its horribly executed. Sure, the film deals with a man's regrets and questions if he can turn back time or make changes to his life, but it doesn't do it well.
There really isn't a plot here, just characters. The bad part is that none of the characters are written well. I still have no idea why several people were even in the film as they served no purpose. I'm sure art house geeks will claim its all symbolism and such, and I'll let them have that. However, art doesn't always have to be about symbolism. Sometimes a turd is just a turd.
To their credit, the cast is excellent in their roles. Everybody brought their A game, and the film is worth seeing just for the performances. Plus, the lead female is pretty attractive in that not a super model, but still oddly hyponotizing way.
I'll give it what it deserves since you will either love it or hate it.
5 out of 10.
