Is this ever profitable without doing your own mining?

I did two comparisons today:
Ferox - Perfect cost to build: $24.6M
Ferox - Market price in region: $24.0M

Scourge - Perfect build - 21.62
Scourge - Market order - 22.50

Seems like the market is pretty efficient.

So... today I got 6 bantams as a bonus for a mission.

I was able to convert them into base materials that had 21,851isk worth per Bantam, despite them being available on market for 15,000isk.

So I put a buy order out for 500 of em, to see if it's an efficient way of harvesting raw materials.

Oh, and I only offered 7,500isk, so plenty of room for error should the efficiency vary for some reason.

I added Gamma L and medium cap boosters to my list of things I buy.

So far I think I've netted about 2.5M isk of minerals for the 1M I invested.

Of course, one day, I'll have to go gather the things up, refine them etc. I've processed a few that were in systems in which I was running missions.
