From here.

I have a feeling I'll be getting "yeah but republicans want to ban boobies on TV" arguments, but it doesn't feel like that would fit in with the examples of stupidity and hypocrisy I gave. You can still get TV boobies on pay TV.

Every example you gave fits into one of two categories: things both sides do fairly equally, and things involving money. When it comes to money, Dems don't believe in individual freedom. All money belongs to the government, except for the part they graciously decide to let you keep on April 15th. On the other hand, they do support social freedoms where the Republicans want to tell you who to pray to and who to fuck.

Both sides are the enemies of freedom and liberty, just in different ways.

For example? Especially the part about Republicans dictating peoples' gods. I know extremist Muslims do that a lot, but I never heard it from... well, anyone else.

How about that stem cell bill he just vetoed in which he equated human embryos lost in stem cell research as "murdered?"

Not sure how that is dictating gods.

I don't believe in god, yet I can still see the side of the argument that considers the destruction of a unique human DNA combination as murder.

And yes, I understand that not all stem cells used in research come from aborted babies.

That's one good example, and which, I recall, had very little support from anyone outside washington. Not none, just very little. Compared to the items I listed in the post, which seem very typical of that particular group.

He didn't outlaw the destruction of those embryos, Gordon. They're already getting destroyed.

That's just bullshit. Count your chickens again. Get realy numbers to support your argument, then.

Nooo... you made the stem cell statements out of left field... YOU support YOUR argument. Which wasn't even an argument, just a couple links with no commentary. I tried to guess what you meant, but I guess I missed the mark.

The last image was funny. The rest don't say to me what apparently they say to you. People like consistancy and comfort of the things they knew in their youth, like christmas and jesus. That doesn't mean that Hinduism is now illegal. I see what you're saying, but I don't think it proves what you said.

In the post I gave 5 real world examples of behavior and/or things that actually happened (and one funny one that pretty much just reflects my personal feelings), and asked who you think these people vote for. Yet another random person on a non-political TV station refered to right wingers as "nutballs" today, and it irked me and inspired my post. What I'm getting in this feedback thread is people not answering the question I posed, and arguing things that were never part of the original post.

Just answer the god damn question.

Everything else is thread derailment, and trying to find meaning between the lines of what I wrote but never said.

Read the thread. Went back and read the feedback. I don't know exactly what the question was? Dumbass me. Please explain. Just one simple question at a time please. :(

The same question was asked twice.

But tell me - people who fit the following examples... how do you think they vote?

Who does the above exemplify, and who did they vote for in 2004?

In case anyone isn't familiar with the examples I posted, here they are... and I'm too tired to provide links.

1. The 2004 Democratic Primaries kept all protesters behind barbed wire, out of sight. I believe pics were on the dtman front page at one time. They even called it the "Free Speech Zone."

2. Google any anti-SUV/Hummer website, and look for the "oil loving republican" bashing.

3. Google any anti-Wal Mart page.

4. I saw this IRL the other day in Ohio. The amerikkka/fascist sticker was on the other side of the bumper from a UAW union sticker.

5. Look for the daily kos thread on this forum where they got caught forcing members of their cabal to Think the Correct Way. And remember, lots of MSM shill for the kos website.

6. This was just my own elitism shining through.

And we all already know who these people voted for, because most of these people are the Anybody But Bush crowd. I was just pointing out the stupidity and hypocrisy for which these people are always given a pass. Fuck that. I'llc all them out. Y'all can apologize and try to change the subject all you want, it doesn't make my examples any less factual.

I said that they want to, not that they can yet do so. It's hard to prove that intention, but I see it all around me every day in my zealotous coworkers and neighbors, and those images refer to specific topics that I could think of where it has come up. I firmly believe that if my boss found out that I don't love Jesus and kiss his ass, she'd find an excuse to fire me. 'Course I'm in a very "red" area, so your mileage may vary.
Just answer the god damn question.

For the examples given, those people almost certainly voted Democrat. Probably a whole ticket worth.

Happy now?

As soon as I get used to the fact that I will never be allowed to be right, ever, then I'll probably learn to be happy.

And I don't mean just on this forum.

I also have a wife and a whole family full of registered democrats.

As for your religion thing, I never got that impression. I can only speak from my own experience, but the repubs I know (all one of them, me) are in the "you're free to worship whatever gods you want as long as your god dowsn't tell you to blow peeps up" camp. But then I still like seeing christmas trees, because it brings back the warm fuzzy memories. It never occurred to me that I want everyone to worship a particular god.

Hell, it's the dems who want to force us to worship NO god, and start the lawsuits to remove the nativities and 10 commandments, even if peeps want them there. So hey, good example.

I'm not apologizing for anyone, or giving anyone a pass. I'm just curious as to why you are giving such a pass to the Republicans, when they are just as bad in other ways.

They're all a bunch of filthy power brokers and media whores. Democrats get their power from making more poor people and then buying their votes, as well as environmental fearmongering. Republicans do it through religious elitism and culling hatred for fringe lifestyles, as well as anti-muslim fearmongering. How is one any better than the other?

Ah, then perhaps I'm wrong. My own experience is that modern Republicans are all about Teh Jesus. That last image up there may have been funny, but it's not a joke in some places ... again, from my experience.

That's why I've become antitheist. Not athiest, because I do suspect there may indeed be a god, and I've got nothing against Him/Her/It/Them/Whatever if so. I'm antitheist - opposed to those who hold specific religious beliefs. Becuase these days that means they want to push their views on everything on other people. Or so it seems.
