Hey, I'm anti-Iraq-war, too. It could have been over in 2003 if the asshole Arabs had stopped blowing people up. So I'm assuming these celebrities are protesting against the blowing up of people by asshole Arabs.

I may not eat again until 7pm.

I fasted between breakffast and lunch. Then AGAIN from lunch to supper in support of our troops.
Why should I miss a meal because some nitwits in Hollywood don't know how to make good protest.

When Gandhi fasted in the 1940's, he was able to persuade the population of his country because they didn't want him to die.
I think the Hollywood celebs realize that nobody would care if they starved themselves to death.

find traveling out of the country very challenging being on a fast. When I was on a layover in Madrid on my way to Venice, Italy yesterday, the closest thing I could find to a smoothie to get a little protein was a coffee with vanilla ice cream in it.
To her, fasting = smoothies and ice cream and coffee.
I don't think that word means what she thinks it means.

Traveling for 22 hours is very taxing under normal circumstances--but then again, when have we had normal circumstances since the 2000 and 2004 successful coup attempts that have brought BushCo into power?
Damn that BushCo! BushCo stole my girlfriend in high school. BushCo also left a burning paper bag full of dog poop on my front porch last week.
By the way, does she realize that the tagline for the website she's writing for is "Marxist Thought Online?" Does she realize that Marxism has killed more people than would be kill ed in a dozen Iraq wars?

Well, then teach the Catholic church about what fasting means, too.
Fasting has degrees... shades of grey. Hers is pretty light (or dark, whichever ones means weak ass). I'm used to people either 1) abstaining from anything but water or 2) abstaining from all solid food (thus fruit juices, etc are ok).
Hers seems to be a variation on #2 where as long as it can melt, it's "juice" like.
Shit, I could live on smoothies all my life and never want for protein, fat, sugar, etc. It's supposed to be a sacrifice, woman.
