F.E.A.R. - Pretty damn good. Scarier than Doom 3 and good AI. Highly recommended.

Starshop Troopers - Buggy and ridiculously hard. Could have been great.

Dungeon Siege II - Decent, but gets tiresome towards the end.

I heard in F.E.A.R they play with your line of sight... like cause movement in the corner of the screen, and when you turn, nothing is there...

I read some pretty good reviews on it, I'll try to pick it up after Exams are done.

Civ 4 - Fun, but not as interesting as previous ones.

Need for Speed - Most Wanted - Fun, but boring and repetitive quickly.

I really want a first-person car shooter/racing game... anyone know of one? There was a really fun one I played 15 years ago that I've forgotten the name of.

Interstate 76 is probably what you are thinking of. Fantasitic game all around, I played through it again a few years ago and stands the test of time well :)

Sadly nothing since then has come close to it, not even the sequel.

Older than I-76 (which I liked as well)... late 80's.

Autoduel is one of the greatest games ever and needs to be remade with GTA type controls.

Futuristic cars.

It was from the perspective of being in the car.

Newer/more modern than AutoDuel... older than I-76.

Not Spy Hunter.

It was a racing game, as its essence. But you could drop mines, shoot people, etc. If you won, you could upgrade your car, etc. as you won more money.

(Vaguely reminds me of a top-down racing game that I played in the mid-90's, but that one was shareware... and I cant remember its name either) ugh *EDIT* Death Rally is that game... still cant think of the first-person one...

Found it - I think
Hi-Octane

I really think this was it... but I'm not 100% sure. Release in 1995... It was a lot of fun... It's been 10 years, they should have a new game like it.

I used to play a lot of "Racing Destruction" on the C-64.

That was a fun one... You know, the more I think about it, the more I think Hi Octane was not what I was thinking off... but I cant for the life of me think of what I was thinking of.

F-zero, wipeout... lots of other future racers I can't think of. Remeber one arcade one that you climb and walls and go upside down in a tube... would lose parts of your car-thing as you get hit and hit speed boosts and the usual stuff.

Nope... it was either a C64 or DOS game, and I'm pretty sure it was DOS. You drove actual cars... against up to 7 other cars... the scenery was pretty dark iirc.
