Here's something that has been an argument of mine for quite some time. Chicago is a Democratically controlled town in a Democratic county, in a Democratic state, currently in a Democratic controlled nation (Congress, the president, and the supreme court), yet crime is so out of control there that they want the military to come in and shut it down?
Why isn't it a utopia? This place should be a left wing dream! Free everything for everyone! Instead you have rampant poverty, bankruptcy, foreclosures, crime, etc.
California is the greatest example of left wing policies in action, but Chicago is a good example too. The forefathers were pretty smart with the whole "Checks and Balances" thing. People on both sides need to understand that they are not right on any and all issues.
People are abandoning airlines for trains.

Granted, it's not all the government's fault. The airlines and their per bag fees and other horseshit is really grating on people. However, the security nightmare that people have to go through now is ridiculous.
Why do I have to give up my Constitution granted protection from illegal search and seizure just because I want to travel? Why is political correctness involved in "random searches"? Call me when a blond, white, teenage girl suicide bombs a plane. Until then, let's profile. Fuck political correctness.

Silicon Valley bans toys from fast food meals.
The thinking is that this will help kids eat smarter.
Not only is this an example of "government-knows-best" nanny state bullshit, but it's just plain stupid. Kids don't get happy meals because of the toy. They get happy meals because of parents who buy them for the convenience.
When's the last time your 5 year old saw a commercial for what toy was in a happy meal, then rode their bike to go get one? Hint: Your answer should be "Never". The PARENT makes the eating choices, and parents don't give a fuck what toy is in the damn happy meal.
And if you're wondering, here are the latest polls showing that most Americans would prefer it if the government would get the fuck out of their lives.
