So a relative of mine, an engineer at a medium-sized automotive supply company, asked me this question tonight:
My IT lady at work has a database system that runs off an old programming language. We are upgrading software so we can keep using this database on newer windows system (64 bit) but the new software is uses a newer programing software she is unfamiliar with.

Her message to me: Our old software is Visual dBase 5.7, we would want to migrate to dBase Plus 9.

He asked if I could do it, or if I knew someone who could do it. I can't and do not.

I told him he'll pretty much want a dbase guy to do it in order to make sure they don't lose data in the migration, and warned him to make sure they don't break other programs that use the old dbase. That about cover it?

I figure y'all might have some better input.

Will check. Not on my list of tech I've played with.

Yeah, I've barely ever touched dBase, I got nothing.
It's not me, it's someone else.
