As I add more network drops in my house, it turns out all the ports on my router and Netgear 8-port gigabit switch were filling up. So, I just purchased and installed this.
I went around and tested all connected devices: so far so good. And actually, things seem to be a bit snappier to connect. The Sony BD player in the bedroom used to take quite a while to verify network connection before launching Netflix or whatever, today at least half the time was cut. I don't know much about the network buffer and frame sizes and such, but I wonder if this enterprise-level switch is beefier than the consumer Netgear switch I had.
Anyway, $75 for a 24 port gigabit switch on newegg. Kickass.
