Imagine for a second that I've got one of the worst designed vendor apps ever coded by a Mountain Dew addict. All it does it talk to their database & make my life a living hell thru functions w\ unspoken & warped logic, memory leaks out the ass, & just bad philosophy in general.
How accommodating are vendors if someone competent asks them for direct database access to space on their servers that my company is fucking paying for in order to cut thru all the bullshit obfuscations they put in my way w\ their shitty apps? I mean, it's our fucking webspace. Why must I navigate the waters of design insanity only to encounter the Broken Logic sea serpent ten times a day when a direct DB connection would solve most of my issues? Fucking hell, they should be paying us for not killing them for coding this piece of shit.
What DB guru decided that the vendor app wouldn't give me the actual primary key of the items, but instead give me LOCAL CLIENT-SIDE primary keys? Technically, I can't even sync up the DB w\ the other techie that also requires access to the same info.
Anyone have experience dealing w\ issues like this? Successes? Failures?
