I wrote a very basic e-mail client in Perl. If I wrote a basic one, that means someone else probably wrote a full-fledged one. I think pine uses SMTP, but I'm not certain. Didn't they prove that thing insecure?

Yea. Just remember that it might still be in beta for a reason. Google is starting to get kinda frightening.edit - belay request. Thib hooked me up with a gmail invite, and I've figured out how to use their SMTP.
All kinds of wacky settings and ports, there...
