"DarkKnights of Vindication"
Hey, remember those times I said I would rather die in my own guild than win under someone elses banner?
I don't think I'll be joining DKV. I'll consider a NAP. Maybe.
Or I might just say fuck it and start attacking everyone in an ever expanding radius.

I don't consider it under someone elses banner. I just see it as a long list of targets being taken off my list.
I fully intend to continue to do my own thing. I'm not naive enough to think they won't be doing the same.
Catt's been doing all the talking with them, and he firmly believes (correct me if I'm wrong. Paraphrasing from chat) that DK is committed to the merger. I'm the one that got all the hate mail over the grav thing. So, I'm not convinced yet.
And if they continue to act like they did anything but aggressively steal grav from us, then that will deepen my distrust and dislike of DK. They can say whatever they want. I have emails that prove they had no on going negotiations with Grav prior to our attacking him. At any rate, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going to let them think I am. I have NO intention of bringing it up, but have NO intention of accepting their bullshit either.
Ya, I know, not the BEST way of starting off the merger. But, I'm keeping my thoughts away from their eyes. So, that'll have to be good enough. I'm still going to try to have the best targets end up in TKV hands, will NEVER share my full strength/knowledge with them, etc. They have a fair amount of 'proving themselves to me' to do.
So, if you want to quit because we can't attack DK, that's cool. But if Catt keeps taking all the targets away through diplomacy, well, then, I'll be joining you.

Gordon, you would have loved Evony. Far, far, far more attacking than I've seen here. LoU is pretty much a nerfed Evony.

Funny thing is, DarkKnightsOfVindication was too long. So we are actually being called KnightsOfVindication. So, props to Catt on that one. They never knew us as TKV. Well, except that it says it right in our description. . .
And FYI to everyone, the alliance may already be in jeopardy as I'm currently under attack by Gravaton. His attack lands at 2:30pm. The attack message showed up about 45 minutes ago and it's only one attack.

This situation is making me angry. You were the leader of TKV, and now you are going to be shit on and take it and smile.
I don't care if it is just a scouting run or something. It is disrespectful.
Back in the UO days none of this would be happening.

The attack from Grav is probably a residual attack left over from yesterday. When the castle I was besieging went lawless, he launched a siege as well. Once I captured it, he pulled his troops and congratulated me on the capture. Our troops never touched each other. I expected to find DK besieging the castle after I got control because I knew they were planning to attack it before it went lawless. Our spy said that they started making plans for it Sunday night. So I knew it was on their radar, but I was beating them to it. I beefed up my ending force to hit their siege back. But they pulled it before it happened. I'm guessing he's got the defense/war minister thing and had an attack scheduled and forgot to cancel it. I had already sent my troops home before the attack showed up. Otherwise I would have left them there just to hit them. But too late now.
Anyway, I don't think he's being disrespectful, I think it's an oversight. Since I've already sent my troops home, there won't even be any damage.
Back in the UO days, it was mainly just you and me, and we were always on the same page. But now we have more people playing. I didn't want to drag people into something they didn't want and that only you and I did. It wouldn't be fair to Catt, Leisher, etc. Granted, Catt has dragged us into something WE didn't want, but that's just how he is.
I'm not going to start attacking friends, or forcing them to attack me, but ya, I'm getting bored too. If we literally keep recruiting targets instead of attacking them, what then? We invite all of 52 to unite and be friends so we can attack Transcend. The only way we can effectively do that is to settle 62. Which means building a ton of cities from scratch, slowly, cause of moonstone costs. But then, once we are established there, why fight them when we could merge with them as well and become a super double alliance that can take other continents. But instead of fighting, we just keep merging!
Ya, where does it end? When does the fighting start?
So, now that we've merged, what IS the plan? There was talk of hitting left over alliances on 52. But, there was also talk of discussing with DK what alliances that are left are attackable. Which leads to more invites and merging. So, what now? Ya, I'm bloodthirsty. But that's the way I like my games. I'm loyal to my friends, and relentless against my enemies. But as it stands in lou, I just merged with my enemies, and it only leaves my friends (Raiders) as viable targets.
So, ya, I dunno. Our score just went way up, but it wasn't a very fun way of doing it.

Maybe we need to schedule a meeting in Skype and work this shit out. Conversations happen so slowly via message boards and shit gets missed. I propose stuff, and I get a comment here and there, but nothing real definitive. And the comments are often opposing view points. No compromise is made. I'm just stuck in the middle as "the leader" and have to make a decision. Honestly, had it been you in Skype last night saying "This is the attack plan I've come up with and why I think it needs to start now, etc, etc", We'd be attacking DK right now. Instead, it was Catt participating in the leadership role and off we went to merger land.
I was on the fence and honestly was OK with either direction. I just didn't want to be the ONLY one making the decision. Had I known I was "the leader", I would have. But I thought we were all leaders. So, I made no hard decision on my own. Again, I would propose things, get points and counterpoints, but was still left in the middle to make the decision. Catt showed initiative, I THINK he's got a plan, and we went with it. Key word "We". I felt like it was the first serious attempt to go in a direction since starting the game.
So, here we are. Again, two opposing points, and I'm in the middle trying to moderate because a decision was made and it was one that one of the people didn't want.
So, let's get everyone together. I say, 7pm EST tonight. If you care about what's going on, then be in skype. If not, those that are there are making the choices. If 7pm doesn't work, post when you want it to happen. I can be available anytime.

My words to Jouven were "we get those who want to join on 52 to join, and everyone else are targets."
We need to war. I want to war. I just didn't want that war, because I didn't think it'd help long term.
Keletskin, OldTimers, Raiders -> Join or die, as far as I'm concerned.

It's not me, it's someone else.
He launched a separate siege to land first and clear out troops (to avoid that whole baron dying thing), but recalled it. The baron was supposed to join the first siege, and launched earlier so could not be recalled.Cakedaddy wrote:It was his baron that he launch yesterday. Took that long to get there. Didn't show up on radar until it did because there's no watch towers. If I had not sent my troops home, I'd have killed the lone baron. Who sends a lone baron to capture a castle?!

Still wish my troops had been there to kill it.
And Gordon, I'm looking forward to hearing what YOU would do as leader/co-leader of TKV (the old version).
I know what I've done wrong at this point, but other than going with my "can't fail" plan that "Taran thought of all by himself", I'm not sure what we should have done.

I just stressed "Taran thought of it all by himself" in case it didn't work I would pretend I had nothing to do with it.
I was completely ready to carry it out, though, was just waiting for the word to go.
In the old version of TKV, we were always taking on bigger guilds than ours, the bullies that preyed on the weak, because we got great satisfaction from defeating them.
With this DK merger, what used to be TKV has become the big bully preying on the weak.
Maybe it will get you closer to winning the game, but it aint TKV's style.
