& the Titans DLC.

Sequel to one of the best games ever.

You're still Adam Roslin, and that's all I'll say about that in case you didn't play the first one yet. You're in the DMZ part of space between the Okkar and the Colonial Alliance. You start off just trying to help a friend, but good deeds lead to good deeds, which eventually involves you in a massive plot to destabilize the DMZ.

The story is fine, but it's nothing like the original. Honestly, I don't hold it against the devs here because the original was so damn good there was nowhere to go but down.

The perfection that is the controls and how your ships handle is back from the original, as are the beautiful locations and the "feel" of space that this series captures so well. Basically, most everything from the original is here, so I won't cover it again.

Only a few new enemies and things do get a bit repetitive depending on if you rush through the storyline or are a completionist like me and 100% every location. Based on what I've seen online, I'm not the rule. A lot of people discussed the endgame and how "you won't be lvl 30 (max lvl) at the end". Uh...I was lvl 30 well before the end.

Speaking of the end game, the post end game is nice if you just want action. You can scale "Rift" battles to be as tough as you like, and they can be brutal.

Titans adds two new storylines, but they're not worth the $15 ($11 on sale now) price. At least, not from a story perspective. I ripped through them really fast. Much faster than the advertised 4-5 hours. The encounters they introduce are endless, but while super interesting during their stories, they lose their luster when outside the stories.

Very good game and I'll play a third if they make it. However, this is not as good as the original. That story was just too perfect, and could not be repeated. If you've never played it, you should.
