Finally won my first game in Civ 6 yesterday. I usually get to the modern age and some Civ is just running away with a science, culture or religious victory condition while i toil away at trying to defend my boarders from some asshole aggro Civ.
This time was different. I was able to establish a whole continent to myself so i could grow without issue. By time i was into the industrial age my navy was far and away ahead of everyone else and my boarders were safe. But Greece had a decent science lead on me somehow. i expanded to something like 12 cities and focused on catching the Greeks and going full science. With about 100 turns left in the game, i had caught and started to pass Greece. I considered doing a domination victory but i didn't think i had the time to destroy the rest of the planet in time, i was playing on a huge map. So i turtled up and was pretty much in cruise control at this point.
Well, the other Civs didn't like my superiority in just about everything so England, Spain and Japan all declared war on me. England had been the only Civ to even try coming into my waters throughout the whole game and never liked what i was doing. So i loaded up an aircraft carrier with a bomber armed with a nuke and turned London into a pile of rubble. Next turn all three nations are offering me their finest luxury items and gold for peace. I just wanted to win so i accepted. about 20 or so turns later as im just minding my own business they start denouncing me again, so i'm just waiting for them to declare war on me again and prepped the nukes for Madrid. They never did and not much longer my Mars hydroponics lab landed and I suck the game.
I've been following Civ 7 and will probably buy it soonish. Looks like they've changed quite a bit with it and its getting mediocre reviews but i like that they have taken some of the micromanaging out of the late game that made Civ 6 so cumbersome. But it has this soft reset of your civ between the three ages, it may not be to lots of peoples liking.

I didn't realize Civ 7 was out yet, came out last week. I'll give it a look when it's on sale.

Probably won't be on sale for some time since it just came out. But i've used CDKEYS.COM to purchase Steam keys before and never had any problems with it. You just got to make sure you purchase one that can be used in the States and for PC not for Xbox or Playstation, unless that's what you'd prefer.

cdkeys is a murky area of legality. It's legal, but not, if that makes sense. You won't get in trouble, but I think Steam could get you on TOS if they really wanted to, and I don't think they care.

Yeah, proceed with caution with cdkeys, but i haven't had problems and from the reddit threads ive read everybody else seems to be good with it too. I think i even got my windows 11 key from them a few years back.
