People volunteer to test drugs for money. Things go wrong. The corporation behind it all is evil. The gimmick is that the test subjects die if they fall asleep.
Interesting concept that has everyone in a "Lord of the Flies" situation. It's just not carried out super well. Absolutely could be based in fact though. This is particularly true considering all we know about corporate behavior.
There's a predictable moment that you'll know is coming with about 30-45 minutes left. (I didn't look at the time when you're made aware of it.)
