Mia Goth continues here story, which I assume comes after Pearl, but before X?
Mia Goth is definitely the new Scream Queen. She's not just the damsel in distress, she's carrying a trilogy.

"It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies..." - Orwell

MaXXXine (TBD)
Trailer looks good. A24 too.
Mia Goth's star is rising. Seriously, if you haven't seen X and Pearl yet, you should just for her. She's good.
This is set 6 years after X.

MaXXXine (2024)
Mia Goth continues in the role she was apparently born to play.
This is set after X. So, I believe the appropriate order to watch them in is X, Pearl, and Maxxxine.
They brought out the big guns for this one and changed the tone. Kevin Bacon and Giancarlo Esposito join the cast, as well as, lesser know names, but faces you'll recognize. The acting is phenomenal throughout.
Maxine continues her quest to be a star, but her past continues to haunt her. That's really all you need to know.
Two "gross" shots, one very brief scene of simulated sex, and one set of boobs, which were seen in X. Other than that, this is more of a drama and whodunit than straight horror.
Bacon is amazing in his role, and Esposito is perfectly cast. It's also hilarious to hear his real voice without the accent he used in Far Cry 6. Mia continues to BE Maxine.
Best acting in the series, but I think I liked Pearl's story better.
This trilogy is a must watch for horror fans, but go in knowing that these aren't your typical slasher films. X kind of is, but Pearl and Maxxxine are more character pieces set in the horror genre.
