Evil Dead Rise (2023)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Evil Dead Rise (2023)

It was...........................

Not bringing much new to the table, and this new strong female lead is no Bruce Campell. Catch phrases are recycled that come out of nowhere.

It was OK..... but I kinda get why that one dude at the screening told the creators to their faces that it fucking sucked. I think that's a bit harsh, and generally disagree, but I can see this reaction from some.

I agree that it didn't suck. The most negative thing I would say about it is that it was like an Evil Dead branded remake of Quarantine or Rec. And I agree with Gordon that the "tribute quotes" feel really out of place. I don't know if the timing is off or they're delivered badly, but they should let them go. Every ED movie doesn't need "Hail to the King, baby" in the dialogue.

If they're serious about this franchise going forward though, they need to up the ante. It needs to be set within a larger population or you're just rehashing the same movie over and over. How about a secluded college campus? An island? A small remote town? Etc?

This is a decent watch if you want horror, just be aware there's gore galore.
