Metrovania game from the folks behind the very fun and charming Unepic. This is also fun and charming, but a bit short. (Pro tip: If you own Unepic, you will get an item right out of the gate to help you.)
The story is set in the future and is about two hackers who hire a mercenary good at controlling androids. They hire her to infiltrate a megacorp responsible for putting androids into homes throughout the world.
Everything else is like playing Metroid or Castlevania...duh. I played on a harder mode where I lost all my stuff whenever I died, but could still retrieve an item if I made it back to where I died. Too many powerups and weapons to go through, but there are definitely moments where you'll feel super powered. Don't worry though, you will still die.
There's also a very cool and important ability you have to control other androids you face. It adds a lot to the game, particularly in terms of puzzles.
I would recommend this and Unepic if you like the Metrovania genre.

Ghost 1.0
While playing through a second time I discovered it has a group of additional missions with crazy hard stipulations to can play by if you want the challenge.
