Article.

I'm just wondering if it'll let to some sort of retaliation.

Most of these cases are people who knew each other, not enemies. (ie. I doubt a black person did this, but I could certainly be wrong)

Yeah, I'll be shocked if it turned out to be a minority that was behind this. Malcolm X, Atlanta child murders... usually someone from within the community.

Well the dead idiot threatened all the folks in Ferguson that were protesting, so it wouldn't be ridiculous to think someone got him first. Thus, if it turns out that way, I wonder if there will be retaliation.

However, yes, it is likely someone he knew did it. Most murders are like that.

The real question is: who cares?

He must have been a pretty low level wizard, those are hard to kill at higher levels.

Until I have enough reason to care to investigate, I'm going to assume Conan of Cimmeria was jumping dimensions, took him out, and left. The end.

I'm assuming he hadn't been able to rest to memorize his spells.

An interesting question for many reasons.

Not saying it's the wrong one to ask, but is it wrong generally? Do we dismiss this guy's life because he lived it in ignorance or do we care that a human being died?

Most would answer that an SOB is dead, good riddance. Are we, as a society, correct in that thinking or does that make us just as bad as him?

Do I care a small amount? Sure. Given enough manpower to properly tackle all the other important crime, I'd vote looking into it. Maybe the investigation will lead to something larger. In fact, that's about the only reason I'd waste any resources on it right now. This dude looks like dead weight on society. Granted, he was 51 and perhaps had a sliver of a chance not to be an asshole at some point in his life ... but I believe the phrase "self-described imperial wizard" speaks for itself. In a certain sense, that does make me kind of a dick for giving up on this waste of oxygen ever redeeming himself? Yeah. But nowhere near as much of a dick as he was and probably would continued to have been. My revulsion for him is based on beliefs he freely chose to embrace. That's at least a rational reason. His irrational hatred of others was based on superficial pseudoscience that ultimately broke down to hating on arbitrary genetic features.

Again, I wouldn't disagree with any of that. So are we "bad guys" or evil or human?

As yet, no one has been charged in the death, Mr Jacobsen said in a statement. Mr Ancona’s wife, Malissa Ancona, was taken into custody on Sunday night and police said she was a "person of interest".

On Monday, it was reported that Ms Ancona, 44, and Mr Aconoa's stepson, Paul Edward Jinkerson Jr, 24, had been charged with murder.
Leisher - Why engage Malcolm about what he cares about? You know the answer.

Good point.

It is hilarious that this guy spent his life being afraid of people who didn't look like him only to be murdered by people that looked like him.

Life isn't sacred. Neither is human life. Life is short and brutal except for where we've been able to push it back with technology. When someone I care about dies I am sad. When a child dies it's a tragedy. When someone kind and charitable dies it is unfortunate. But I don't feel bad at all for not being sad this guy is dead and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
