2015 was HOTTEST YEAR EVER!

Post by thibodeaux »

That's more or less the headline, on almost every site:
https://www.bing.com/search?q=2015+hottest+year

In fact, Yahoo's headline is exactly that:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/2015-hottest ... html?nhp=1

"2015 Was the Hottest Year Ever"

But the very first line of the article is:
"It’s official: 2015 surpassed 2014 as the hottest year on Earth since the second half of the 19th century..."

Oh. You know what ENDED in the second half of the 19th century?

Most people are very prone to amnesia. Fifteen years is pretty far back for a lot of them.

Fixed. Headlines are written by editors. Editors are not people.

Much as I'd like to strike them and many others from the list of humanity, they're still people. Sick, twisted, warped mutants of people.

Ah, 19th century = 1800s. Oops.

Still, EVER = 115 years is still wrong.

Longer than 99.999999% of human lifespans and therefore functionally equivalent to "the stone age."

It actually said "second half of the 19th Century," which coincidentally was also around the end of the Little Ice Age:

from about 1300 to about 1850
