Started out with Tas, Sam, Gunn and Taran. We scouted the normal places and saw this and that. Headed into Passari (I think) and we had a bad guy flying a battleship. We think about it a moment and Tas heads off to buy a bunch of target jammers specific to that battleship. I stay in system to track him down. He was moving around alot. At one point, he and I were the only ones in the system. Figured he was looking for me because he wasn't holding still. When Tas went to get the Jammers, I thought I was going to get some too, and left the system to meet up with them. I thought I went to the system they were in, and then found out that I wasn't getting jammers. So was about to head back to where I had been. At any rate, my bearings were all messed up and as I warped into a gate to go back to where I thought the battleship was, he jumped into the system I was in. I let everyone know where he was. The battleship starts flashing red. "Uh oh", I think. I get a message that (I forget his name) the battleship made the mistake of attacking someone. The sentries were on him. I wasn't taking damage though. Figured out that he attacked someone else in another Ferox. I target the battleship to see what was happening. He was to about half shields. Since he was shooting someone else, the sentries were firing, and my help (I thought) was one system away, I opened fire. The other Ferox was tanking quite well as he limped toward the jump gate. He took a lot of volleys from the battleship. I never targeted him to check his status. Didn't want to spook him even more than he already was. I get a message from Tas that they were someplace, and it sounded like it was going to be a bit before they got there. "Uh oh" I think again. So, I line up to warp just in case things go bad. The other ferox was tanking like a mofo. Finally, he made it to the jumpgate and left the area. So, the BS started firing on me. I was tanking pretty good. Not alot of damage happening. That's about when the rest of the troops arrived. Tas jammed him right away and we are all lobbing missles at him. He's going down at a pretty good rate. He's also heading away from us!! I turn to follow (I had still been lined up for an escape). But the BS was faster than me. Tas made the comment that he was almost out of warp jam range. Damn. . . he might get away. He fell out of my warp jam range first, and then he was quickly out of Tas's. We knew he was lining up for a warp at that point, but we are well into his structure at this point. Evey volley we sent we hoped would be the final one. The BS was still in missle range. Finally BOOOOM!!! The battleship was no more. We targeted, but couldn't lock his pod quick enough. It warped away. Some chick in an elite cruiser boogied up to the loot. Grrrr. She was gonna get it all. Some of us targeted her (I think) to try to spook her off the loot. She didn't stay there long and was warping out. Don't know if she got her fill, or if she was scared. By the time we got to the loot, I think there was about 6 million in goods left on it. Loot aside, it felt good to get our first battleship under our belts. According to the kill mail Tas got, the chick that looted helped with the kill. There might have been one other name in the list as well. I'll post the kill mail later.
We continued our hunt. Gordon met up with us right after the battleship incident. So now there's 5 of us. We came accross another bad guy. This one was driving a Ferox if memory serves. I was bait and he took it. I called in the troops. This guy was all about close combat. He flew right up on me. We were nose to nose firing at each other. Problem was, he was hitting me HARD. A good 3 times harder than the battleship was!! Luckily, I scored 3 800 size cap boosters off the battleship and had those to keep my cap at a good level so I could keep running my large shield booster. He was eating through it like a mad man. It seemed like the troops were taking 3 times longer getting to me as well!! But, I think that was just heat of the moment type stuff. They show up and someone gets a jam on him. Good. I was out of booster charges and half way through my cap. Turned off my shield booster so my warp jam would stay on. We were all firing and with all of us there, we were finally showing some damage on him. He was tanking me better than the Battleship was!! But then, the BS had the sentry guns on him. . . But anyway, I wasn't hurting this ferox very much. With all of TKV firing on him though, it didn't last much longer. He blew up. Tas missed the pod by targeting two other things before the pod!! And the pod got away.. . again! But, Tas scooped up the loot, which turned out to be worth more than the BS loot! Got some Arablasts and other things. Again, I'll post the kill mail (That TAS got again) later.
From there, we scouted more and ran into the guys that attacked the other night. That's when I got the appology from one of the offending players.
And that's about it.
OH! Except for the near Nomad kill. Had one jump on a gate with most of TKV sitting on the other side. However, someone jumped the gun and they all came through spooking the guy away. Had no one jumped, we would have had him for sure. . . Ah well. There's time. We'll get them. But only one mistake for the night between 5 of us. . . that's not too bad.

Exactly your setup. If he was shooting thunderbolts, that would explain the massive dmg, But only if you didn't have hardeners on. Nothing else really would have, tho.
Remember how long it took us to break his shield tank, even with a bunch of us. I can't figure out how he hit you that hard, otherwise. When sparring, I use his exact setup. The Tech 2 Large shield booster is very nice. I think he was using 2x inv fields, I like uisng an em + a Inv field, myself.

I'm sure they were on. However, I had that stupid kinetic hardener on with the EM. Normally I do run an Inv as well, however, I'm out of them right now. . . He was running all arablast too, and I had Malkuth. So he had a couple second boost on me as well. He prolly just had the right hardeners and I had the wrong or something.
