Multiple encounters!!

First encounter was an Insane Decision dude. Bos Noj....something. He's a wuss. When we started seeing all his friends logging on, his spy in our system and him camping a gate in it, we knew he had massive backup. He just doesn't fight us. We moved back to Aununin. I went to the outpost and waited. Podruski of the Wombles pulled up blinking red. I locked and disrupted him. Han and Tas warp in. I had him down to half armor and they helped finish him off. Actually, Han jammed him and Tas helped blow him up. Gordo was a little slow on the missles. :-) We loot and move on. He was flying a frigate of some kind. Weak, cheap ship. Correction, reading the kill mail, it was a blackbird. He was jamming me.

We do a bunch of scouting and end up back in Aununin. I hit the outpost again. Some possitive sec guy comes up. I didn't think much of it. Talking about our next move when I notice I'm getting targeted. I look and see two red blinkers in my overview. I activate the jump gate as Han and Tas enter the system. I warp away. I paniced cause there was two of them. As soon as I stopped, I reversed and warped back to the outpost. It was clear. Tas and Gordon were heading in. One of the bad guys beat them to the spot and I targeted and got my warp jammer ready. I locked and he was jammed just as Han and Tas show up. We are all hitting him and he's not doing too much at all. Just as he is about to blow up, his friend makes it there. His name was Lazzlow. We lock and warp jam him. We are doing decent damage when two more show up. I'm scared again, but holding my ground. Han announces he's being targeted and I give a warp out order. He has NO tanking ability and is NOT suppose to take fire. I line up on something and plan to be the last one out as I'm the tank. Don't want to leave a weaker one behind. Plus, I had yet to see a warp jammer hit me. Tas is much more calm and notices one of the three is just a Merlin frigate. Oh, well ok then, lets stay. That's when Tas's warp takes and he's out. I'm doing fine with my tank setup. Never went below half shields or 30% cap. Han and Tas come back. We are all firing on Lazzlow. The third Ferox leaves at some point. I didn't catch it. I also fail to notice that Laz is flying out of my warp jammer range. He escapes. The Merlin is still locked and I warp jam him. We are all firing on him. He's at 18km and almost out of my 20km warp jam range. I start following thinking at any point he's going to fly out and away. He doesn't quite make it and he goes boom. We loot and leave. They played it HORRIBLY, and so did we. But, we won. :-)

The above is from my perspective. During the fight, Gordon is announcing his successful jams, and I could tell, 'cause I'd stop taking damage allowing me to turn off my shield booster, thus conserving cap. Tas was issuing firing/locking orders, some of which I was even able to process! Over all, was awesome. We made some basic mistakes, but, we will. Also learned even more this time. Every encounter makes more and more happen automatically. Managed my Cap WAY better, and I didn't have to remind myself as much. I just did it. Kept things firing and activated.
I did better.

Things I still have to work on:

1. Keeping tabs on people coming into local and even into overview.
2. Learn to quickly determine what we are fighting through overview.
3. Keep people in range.
4. Do all that while still listening to the team so I can better assess the situation. I shouldn't have order the Han warp. Should have waited for him to take damage. Everyone was firing on me. They were just getting ready and targeting him. Plus, he has jammers and can jam anyone that fires on him. It's not an auto warp out if our non-tanks are taking damage.

Much fun and I think either my curse is busted, or Han attracts more action than my curse can counter. . .

I'd be interested in hearing other peoples' break down of the fights, as well as what they 'learned'.

I've learned two nights in a row. I've come to the conclusion that learning and winning is better. :-)

Reading above, Gordo must have rammed Adonis or something. hehe

And we took out some homeless and janitors. . . But, at least we saved the exotic dancer!!

Fun night, here goes my take:


After being unsuccesful in one area we went to Aunenen, and pulled a pretty good plan off. Plan is this, Taran baits someone to attack him at the Complex gate, while we wait either in system or next door, to jump in and assist. A womble jumped in right on top of Cake, and Gordo and I were lined up to warp in. His blackbird blew up so fast Gordo didn't even have time to turn his missiles on. (course I got three racks off, so...) We really wanted another womble, driving a Ferox to jump in as well, but he either was AFK, or Podruski told him not to.

We went up to Daras, were Sam had spent the last year and a half, using his bookmarking method to find swiftnesses abandoned rifter(which I snagged, and was empty!). Taran scouted Iit and spooked Bos into bringing the Insane Decision boys, at least one spy, and probably the North Vietnamese Army, to camp the side of the gate to gank us if we engaged.

Well, we aren't stupid, and aren't going to fall for that crap. We left telling the spy(who kept asking us to "clear the lone pirate") that we were going to wait for a UCC(large alliance) battleship group as backup. As far as we know, the Insane guys are still waiting on that fleet.

Traveled a bit more, Taran got singed by a gate camper, and so we ended back in Aunenen. Now things got interesting. Told from purely my vantage point:

Me and Gordo were waiting at the Aunenen Gate in Nonni, figuring we couldnt pull the same play twice on the wombles, and it would need to look like Taran was alone at the gate. Well the trap closed but with bigger fish than we figured.

Cake startes telling us that a couple non-scary looking guys warped in... but suddenly he says he is being fired upon. Ok, so we jumped over to Aunenen. From cakes view, he does the natural think when unknowns start firing on you, and flees. Gordo and I cancel the warp line up, and hold, while cake escapes to a nearby station after going through the complex.

Cakes pieces it together and figures out it was only two Feroxs, ok, we can take that.

We all jump to the gate, and barely have time to collect ourselves when one of Taran's attackers comes back. I make the eradicate with extreme prejudice command, and we light him up. He is about at struture when things go hazy for me.

Why? Well, because firefox choose that moment to pull a critical error, an error so bad it yoinks me out of the game screen, and into a endless supply of "close program now" screens. I can still hear laggy battle nosies, and GV is working fine.

I hear "we got him" quickly followed by. Shit, we got multiple guys coming in behind him. Gordos getting shot at.. ex. I finally close everythign but EVE and GV. Coming back, it's confusion, I check my overview about the time gordo jumps out, yikes, a bunch of Reds, better jump out too. (I'm not shooting at anyone at this point as i've been basically away from eve for about a minute).

I'm about mid warp lineup when I see that it's only 2 feroxii(ha!) and a merlin, and the back of my head was thinking that the guy we just killed wasn't using a good ammo type for pvp. Ok, so we stick around, but it was too late, and I was already jumping.

Cake realises the same thing, and his tank is holding fine, against the three of them, so he sticks around. Lazzlo was already in armor by the time we got back, but I couldn't target him in time to Warp Jam him, and we think he got out of Tarans range. Anyway, he jumps away. Another one jumps out, and the only guy left is probably the newest of the group.

I would take this time to point out that Taran, was tanking 3 guys at the same time, by himself, and they were running from him before we showed back up.

Anyway, poor newbie is in a merlin, and my jam hits him in the face almost as hard as the first flight of missiles.

The drones didn't even make it halfway there before he exploded.

So WTF happened? My theory was the group was running missions together, maybe 3 feroxs and the merlin. They finished it, and said, hey, were badass, lets go kill someone.

They choose a bad target tho, as we were ready for that kind of foolishness. They were EXTREMELY lucky that firefox exploded on me. If I had been able to see them as they warped in, I'm guessing one would have gotten out alive, max. There was a point mid battle where I was just sitting there, wrestling with the Task Manager, for a full minute or so. As far as I can tell, they didn't focus fire, use good ammo, or really communicate correctly.

They deserved to be blown up to a man!

Anyway, that said I managed the best loot of the night, despite what Cake and Han will say.

The Exotic Dancer, who now sits in the 6th Hangar, for all to see, our prize for being l33t.

Yikes, that wasn't a noob, that was the tackling ship.

He still died in about 5 seconds, but in a normal scenario he would have been blow up first, with drones and stuff being sicked on him as soon as he showed up.
