Honestly if i'm gonna play an RTS i don't wanna play some old ass outdated one.
I completely agree. That being said, I think you'd find Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, and Supreme Commander 2 very acceptable. TA came out in the late 90s or early 00s, and it's miles better than anything in the C&C series.
Seriously, I cannot stress enough that when it comes to the Annihilation series (which the SC games are a part of), you need to get the "dated" image out of your head.
I'd much rather be a part of a game that is growing and currently getting developed into something better (even if its not perfect as of yet) than play some game that no longer is getting updates and support. I guess thats what i really love about LOL so much, its always changing.
Well, don't go crazy here. LoL, at it's core, hasn't changed much at all.
They just trick you like a woman.
They add skins, champs, some items that are really the same as older ones, and tweak some stats, but at the end of the day, it's all the same.
A woman will dye her hair, get a make over, wear push up bras or spanks or not, get a boob job, wear glasses, learn some new tricks in bed, etc. However, she's still the same woman underneath. (Make this analogy a man if it helps you.)
I mean you could say that all games in any genre are really all the same. It boils down to the polish put on the games.
LoL's biggest weakness is the strength you see. Their constant development. They're stuck with the same engine and core game.
Meanwhile, games that get released, and then eventually lose support get two things:
1. The modder community (there's a mod for TA that turns it into Star Wars)
2. The development team can create a sequel or new game from scratch using new technologies, not just spray painting old an old one.
Anyway, I'm with you, and I get your point, but at the same time, I think you're giving LoL a little bit of undue credit.
I would buy PA right now, but I doubt anyone else will.
I'm already 80% sure I'm going to buy it within the next 24 hours. I think Stranger said he'd buy it, and read something about it being in really good shape in its current form. Anyone else who plays RTSs must think of this game as a must buy, so others will be joining us. As for Gordo, I think I might be into him for $37, which is $3 shy of the current price...
