Deleting all unread in gmail

My phone display and shit finally hit 1k unread emails, and it bugged me. So here is how to delete all those unread pizza deals and facebook updates that you can never seem to shut off and travelocity adertisements en masse:

The only thing is, for me it was only deleting 20 emails at a time in spite of what the video showed. I appended the query line with "in:inbox is:unread delete:all" and that worked for me.

I like getting most of it like the pizza coupons and shit, because we actually use them. But I only need the current ones. I had stuff from 2009 that i never read and it just got pushed down the list as new stuff came in.

This is an occasional maintenance tip, not a "run every day" thing.

And the facebook stuff... fuck them. I tell them to turn off alerts, and 2 weeks later they turn themselves back on. And a few years ago I made a fake facebook account to run 2 instances of... some game we were playing... and tried deleting that profile TWICE, telling them it was an unneeded duplicate. It stays shut down for a month, then I start getting alerts for it again. Fucking fuckers.
