I don't like John Snuh's plan to walk into the invading army unarmed and try to just hug it out or whatever.

I also don't understand the wildling plan to escape the creeping death of the white walkers by slaughtering everyone they can find on their way south. If the wildlings would just occupy the empty Knight's Watch castles on the wall, that's a hell of a lot better defensible position against the WWs.

It's worse than that.
Love made her shoot the arrows in non-vital areas, allowing "John Snuh" to escape and tell the Knight's Watch all of their plans.
If she had killed him they would have massacred the 100 people at The Watch. Instead her misplaced arrows slaughtered her and all of her party.
