droid phone update slowness
A few weeks ago, I upgraded the software that runs my Droid because it incessantly complained that I hadn't. Prior to the update, the response time from key press to rendering that key's symbol on the screen was virtually realtime. Same with the phone sensing when it needed to kill the display and black out versus lighting up. Immediately after the update, I noticed the response time go up from essentially 0s to sometimes 2-3s. Wtf? How much extra shit does it need to do every goddamn time I hit a fucking key?

I'm wondering if this is a coincidence, but after the update, my phone battery seems to drain more when the device is off than on. Seriously, wtf did they do to my phone?

Could've downloaded something wirelessly and applied it of its own volition.GORDON wrote:All of a sudden my keyboard changed when I type anything. The "auto suggest" line is gone, and my keys are typically smaller. I didn't do an update that I am aware of... did my keyboard settings get changed somehow?

At any rate, the smaller keys have me using "voice to text" more which I should have been using all along. It works really well, and now I can answer texts/emails (my car reads them to me over bluetooth) and answer them (I just talk into the phone) without taking my eyes off the road.
