It furthermore appears you get to rerun the Leviathan mission precisely one time.

Almost beat the Tier 3 Death Race without the Afterburner. I think it's possible, you just have to run the course perfectly. Always had a couple fishtails that turned into small spinouts that cost me a few seconds, and I was always about 1-2 seconds too slow. Finally broke down and equipped the relic. Soooooooooo much easier.

Guess I'm back to the main storyline until the weapon levels go up. Least the XP isn't too horribly bad. Suppose I could use some keys, but I'd burn through at least a dozen before I had a minimal set of equipment of sufficient ass-kickingness.

Not true.

Leviathan is the Pirate DLC end boss, right?

Yeah. I killed him once. Then immediately after returning to pseduo-Hunter S. Thompson, the mission board lights up with the same final mission from Pirate DLC. Waited a few levels, then ran it again in the hopes I'd get at least three total runs. After the second time, turned the mission into p-HST, and no follow up from the bounty board in Oasis.

Can I just go there and kill the thing now, without the facade of a mission?

Due to me jumping back and forth between main quest and DLC, the mission generator seems to have gone a bit dodgy. I've got a slew of offered quests in Sanctuary, ranging in level from 37 to 47. Will probably hit 50 this week. Then, it's just a matter of getting weapons.

Midway through level 49. Finished off all the missions under 45. Starting to get new guns. My Leviathan kill limit is still 2. Can't get to his lair. No mission to trigger the trip and the backdoor from Oasis is blocked.

I don't remember needing the mission. You just had to show up at the right spot. Or, you had to go up the lighthouse, and then show up at the right spot.

Hit 50. Guns are still 4-5 level behind but gradually getting better. Got the first quest reward gun in a long time that I kept.

EDIT: Still not good enough to beat Tier 3 Bar Brawl at Pyro Pete's. Goddamn.

Tier 3 brawl: Remember, you only have to beat the, uh... Badass somethings, whatevers. Everyone else is irrelevant and will fight each other.

RPGs and grenades were my friend for L3.

Long as I'm cloaked, I'm fine. Every kill while cloaked is +2s of cloak. Problem is I can't one-shot anyone in Tier 3 unless conditions are perfect and every level 51 dude in there is blasting right through my level 43 purple shield. I have seen nothing with higher capacity, though, even the blue 45s being thrown at me. Think I almost had it once but time ran out and a couple dudes were left.

What I actually need is a roid shield with capacity around my current shield with a shorter delay/recharge. With that shield, a good bladed shotty, proper grenades, a real launcher, and preferably a Tediore or two, I bet I could take it. Ultimately, all I really need is a place that takes a combo of cash/eridium for level 50 gear. Why doesn't that place exist?

In addition, why aren't there more wild-ass shops?

How about a jetpack shop?. They obviously have the physics for geysers tossing you in midair and your enemies can fly, so why not? Tired of climbing that fucking mountain? Take the short cut.

Hell, better yet, make a shop where you can design your own gun using the parameters they'd normally generate. Make it obscenely expensive, like the sort of place you'd go to get a gun made for a raid boss run. Make one per manufacturer. Eh, come to think of it, maybe make it a bit more limited than the full gun-making procedure.

Looks like we aren't gathering four of us for a raid boss run anytime soon, so how about someone else with a L50 hosting a game so I can get some L50 loot?
