Borderlands 2
I think there were some folk intent on going to the Fridge to get reacquainted with Sancutary, then I hit the travel button for Fink's Slaughterhouse.
My label of a cheap victory is about half-serious. My buddy and I got through most of Moxxi's Underdome in BL1 because his phasewalk made his invis long enough for me to snipe perpetually (ammo regen mod + turret) from the penalty box. Yeah, I know it's technically not cheating, but it feels like a less than complete completion. Though, I was kind of impressed the raging goliaths were able to jump up and engage you three. I have a strong desire to find ways to get those optional headshot goals. They have to lead to something interesting. Think we may need to let the raging goliaths do more work for us whenever possible.
In other news, about the "disable Tiny Tina's mines" challenge...
Turns out there are two distinct kinds of mines around the Tundra Express region (where we hit the train last night). Some, laid out by other folk, are red. Some, laid out by Tiny specifically, are pink. Only the pink ones can be disabled. The red ones just explode regardless if you get too close.

Well, if we're playing BL2, let's continue on the story out of the gate, so we can get to the finish line. That'll make our playing schedule and partners more flexible.
I'm really looking forward to my second playthrus.

We just going to kick the sidequests to the wayside? Technically speaking, the arena wasn't required and that was about the most fun I've had thus far in BL2.Leisher wrote:Well, if we're playing BL2, let's continue on the story out of the gate, so we can get to the finish line. I'll be on sometime between 9-10. My kids are at the watermark and will be home at any time between no and 9 or so. I'll get on after they're in bed.

I probably won't be on until 915 or so. More car things. I swear to fuck, everyone that touched my car yesterday except me is a fucking moron. I'm starting to get that really possessive "Can I see your common sense credentials" feeling I usually only get when letting others near my computer.

I did some checking on Moxxi's tip jar.
~$10K: achievement unlocked (not a badass challenge)
~$20K: Miss Moxxi's Bad Touch ... corrosive SMG
~$40K: Mixx Moxxi's Good Touch ... fire SMG ... this gun is given about every ~$40K worth of tips.
In addition, badass tokens are unlimited in quantity. Each character you make starts with blank challenges. Completing challenges earns badass ranks earns badass tokens. Tokens gives you bonuses that get applied to all characters across an account. The amount of badass ranks it takes to get a token goes up exponentially proportional to the number of tokens earned (exponent is 1.
. There are 14 stats you can boost with a token, initially at 1% each. As you apply more tokens to a stat, the benefit decreases, eventually flattening out at 0.1%.

Thoughts on the Slaughterhouse arena...
1) Aside from a buzzard or two, it was mainly human enemies. That says to me we need fire for flesh, shock for shields, slag for setup.
2) Everyone needs one of each gun type to maximize ammo usage.
3) A static position does not work in all circumstances. When there are swarms of lowly critters trying to get us (normal psychos, midgets, rats, etc.) we can beat them back pretty solidly. When there are 2-3 small groups of badasses drilling us from separate angles, it's time to move to one corner and start the "slag and murder" process.
4) If a wave is coming to an end (they are discrete), whittle down the crowd to one enemy. Leave him be while everyone goes around and loots. The first time around, the containers will be there.
5) Phaselocked enemies are ten times easier to headshot.
6) The optional goals (critical hit kills) sound like a bitch, but doable with enough discipline.
7) I'm just guessing here, but it seems easier to snipe and headshot folk from the viewing elevator as opposed to on the field.

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
In addition, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage features appearances from fan-favorite characters like Tiny Tina and Mad Moxxi!
G's daughter and our favourite casino operator make an appearance.
EDIT:
Torgue’s campaign mixes Borderlands 2’s typical mission structure with the Circles of Slaughter seen in the main game, using horde mode-style battles to punctuate story missions throughout its running time, which is roughly the same as the previous expansion.
Ooooh, and wave/horde type assaults like in the Slaughterhouse.
