Who needs DMX when we've got Malcolm?

When's this co-op thing kicking off and who's in? I'd prefer to field a team of four for obvious reasons.

I used my second gold key at level 20. i got 2 class mods, one for the Zer0 and the other for Maya. They look really usefull but im playing with Salvadore. So both my keys netted me a few crappy items. Bummer...

But i did find a corrosive fastball grenade with the red text that says "Forget the curveball Ricky. Give 'em the heater!"

How cool is that?! a game that takes quotes from the greatest movie of all time... Major League!!

Oh yeah, i should add that when you throw it, its not the typical lob. It comes flying outta your hand like a 100 mph fastball!! so cool..

Completely forgot about this thread, I apologize.

Let me quick hit points for Cake, and then I'll address the new stuff in a different post. So unless you're Cake, you can probably skip this.

-I did quit Diablo for UO. I don't apologize for that, but I do apologize for not explaining further my distaste for the series when discussing co-oping Diablo II.
-What I said about NWN2? I was wrong. THIS is my co-op experience with you guys in a long RPG, and why I didn't return.
-You keep saying "you guys". Who is "you guys"? It's me. Who else was around back then?
-Co-Op vs. Multi is Tomato Tomatoe to me. The point is that we're playing together online. Just because we're on different teams or not fighting the AI doesn't mean it couldn't be a co-op game.
-I was around a lot with you guys in the official UO, but with the second go around I was never on when you guys were on. I knew I wouldn't commit to it fully as it wasn't the same, which is why I tried to do my own thing. I didn't want you guys to waste resources on me.
-99% sure I never received an invite to play NW2. Didn't even know there was interest in doing so, and if there was, see what I said four points ago.
-You playing L4D when LoL was going wasn't an issue. It was the fact that I had mentioned it about a million times in the forums, but never got an invite. Worrying about spoilers in that game is like being pissed at the weather man because he told you what time the sun is coming up tomorrow.
-I do golf and play poker and all that fun stuff. However, why is anyone waiting for me on those nights? I stated a long time ago that I would NOT get on those nights. The fact that I do sometimes is because I'm leaving the bar early or skipping euchre to come play LoL instead. So no, nobody should be waiting for me those nights. The point I was making is that I'm pretty up front about my schedule. Ditto for Gordon. You're not as good. Most nights when we don't play, I'm usually watching TV or playing something else while Gordon and I exchange messages in Steam chat about how gay everyone else is...
-Telling someone how to enjoy a game is like telling them the correct way to eat a peanut butter cup. If a game says 1-4 people, guess how many folks can play it... You can say whatever you want about enjoyment, but to some people, getting a group together and waiting to play something you're really excited to play might be a bigger hassle and headache than it's worth.
-If someone doesn't want spoilers, I will not spoil anything for them. Please don't assume that I, or anyone else here, can't keep a secret. I've got a whole movie forum full of spoiler free reviews to prove my point.

And just so we don't keep going back and forth on this since it's not really a debate, and it's exhausting to read through and type this stuff...please allow me to summarize:

Instead of coming here and bashing everyone for not playing co-ops your way and assigning us all the personalities of walking spoilers who aren't fit to co-op with you based on...well, you haven't really presented ANY evidence aside from Gordo ruining Baldur's Gate, but somehow he was still worthy to co-op with...

Anyway, if you see a game that interests you, post about it. Send out the co-op invitation. I've got no problem NOT playing through a game. In fact, if you've noticed the game I've been playing recently, it's been FEAR 3. Why? Because I knew Malcolm was getting his copy of Borderlands 2 soon and wants to co-op. I wasn't even 10% of the way through it. I've also seriously given thought to joining Gordo in Borderlands, but Malcolm asked, and Gordo never did, so...next post...

I'm in.

Cake claims if we didn't play through, he'd come down off his high horse and join us. We'll see, although I don't want to spend the next year trying to get through the main storyline...

Who would the fourth be? I don't know. Maybe Gordo if he likes BL? TPR? Catt? Anyone?

That sucks. It should be at least something specific to your class or a weapon you use a lot.

I've only played 3 of the 4 classes. Gotten as far as meeting Sir Hammerlock. Knowing that gameplay is easier and less interesting when I'm solo'ing is what's keeping me from progressing further. It'd be like playing Thief on the easiest difficulty level -- you just miss too damn much because the cool objectives are hidden unless you jack it up to maximum. I've got Fallout for single player fun, too.

I might be able to pull in another person or two, but I'm not sure. Their schedules are unpredictable. Mine, apart from weekends, tends to suck as well, at least recently.

The archiver in me won't let me burn the gold key knowing that it might not be items pertinent to my class, and it's just purple.

I will probably jump in. Burning through the first game as fast as I can, so I will know the story behind 2. Currently level 18.

Story...

There are things that come at you and try to kill you. You blast them. Occasionally, they have smaller things you pick up. All things ultimately translate to guns/ammo/grenades.

Play faster.

Sledge isn't that far into the game.

If you're looking for a story in the first Borderlands, you're not gonna find it. Even the game developers have admitted that the first game was written terrible and it was one of the priorities in making B2. Sure it had some good comidic relief, but the story was really non existent and pretty hard to follow.

B2 has stepped it up and it is downright hilarious. You really don't need to play part one to understand part 2. But you will see some of the same characters from part one, so that will help in tying things together i guess.

So far the story is very interesting. I liked the journal of the scientist chick. At first she is excited about doing research, in the middle she is mocking the redneck, savage inhabitants of the planet, and at the end she is killing off the last of her colleagues and bathing in her juices, or some such thing.

And the local military leader is treating me as an invader, instead of a liberator... that's interesting.

And of course, the overarching search for "the vault."

There's obviously more going on here than it seems.

Fleshing out the game world with realistic details isn't the strong point of BL1 or 2.

I'll bring this up again so it doesn't get lose in the shuffle...

-I have completely stopped playing BL2, and was only into it as far as the first town. I'm ready to restart with a brand new character.

-Gordo is currently rushing through BL so he's up to date on the story.

-Malcolm is standing by ready to play. Although, I think he's farther in, so he'll have to promise to let the other three lead, so he doesn't give away any spoilers.

-Stranger would join us in a heartbeat if he had the PC version.

-Cake wants to play BL2, and would in a heartbeat if we played his way. Well, here we are...

-No idea if anyone else in the forums plays it or has interest?

So Malcolm and I are ready to go. I figure we'll wait until Gordo says he's finished BL and there's three. Whomever wants to be the 4th, please let us know.

I've made it up to about level 3, just in the first town as well, right after the first boss. Haven't made it to the point where the special abilities activate. Had to get used to the physics of the game (compared to the other Fallout physics hardwired into my brain) down, along with shaking out any annoying tech issues.

On October 7 I am starting a big project that is going to last 7-14 days, and am not going to have any time for gaming at all, more than likely.

So we might want to wait until after that.

I'm in no tremendous hurry. I don't plan to solo much on BG2. Like I said, I've got Fallout 1, 2, New Vegas, and BoS for that. Worst I might do is co-op with other folk in the meantime.

I'd still be down for playing with y'all because the dude I went through BG1 with, he's simply addicted to crowd control/mage-type classes. I'm not especially fond of tanks, so we were going through with Lilith and Roland in the first one. Not the greatest combo.
