Just got an email that it's paused until furhter notice.
Thanks to all the players who played in the latest games of Civ World. They were some of the most exciting, most enthusiastic games we've yet seen, and it's all thanks to you. The last of these concluded over the weekend, and as you will no doubt have noticed, no active games are currently running. We've taken the game down while we put the finishing touches on a new version, providing many much-needed bug fixes and offering a range of new gameplay updates. The catalogue includes:

· Significant improvement on the reversioning (aka "rubber banding") bugs
· Cleaning up of allowed actions during the Join-Up Phase
· New User Interface art for the Portrait Window and Taskbar
· Domination victories now based on the number of battle victories
· Culture medal awards returned to random pick
· Corn equally fertile on plains as on grasslands
· Lumber Mills available at the beginning of the game
· New powers for the Political Advisor: veto any vote where unless the "yes" side has a 2:1 majority
· "First to Research" Technology bonuses restored
It's not me, it's someone else.

Yeah, that's what made me think of it. How did you "win" the game?

Had the most fame points. Used my wife's account, and a fake facebook account to help rig the market, which earned me enough that I was often king, and that civ i was king of won a lot. Oh, I was also on painkillers from a backspasm for most of that week, so I had a lot of time at home in front of the computer.

Did you tell them about how you did it so they can try to adjust the game for it?

I thought that was the point of an alpha, to get feedback from the users and fix the problems.

You're not a very nice person, are you?

Not really.

I was trying to see what the potential for multi-account abuse is. It's pretty big, but not massive.
