The story so far:
Israel has a blockade going of Gaza. A humanitarian fleet attempts to go through and deliver aid. Israel stops their previous attempts. This time, 9 people died.

Obviously, this is big news. It's being portrayed that Israel was aggressive against peaceful people on a humanitarian mission. Arab nations, Palestinians, and countries like France (maybe they're trying to appease the Muslims in France that they really don't want their?) want a UN investigation.

Well, maybe these peaceful people weren't so peaceful.

Israel said commandos opened fire in self-defense and 10 activists were killed and seven troops wounded.

Of course, that's offset by the very next sentence:
With Israel jamming signals and censoring media, there was little independent reporting of the events at sea.

Note that both of those sentences were in the second paragraph of the article.

Now here's the 7th:
A Reuters cameraman on the Israeli navy ship Kidon close to the six-vessel aid convoy said commanders monitoring the operation were surprised by the strong resistance put up by the pro-Palestinian activists.

Hmmm, that would seem to indicate that maybe the Israelis are telling the truth.

I think the "humanitarian fleet" got exactly what they wanted.

There is a video out, I saw it last night. I believe Israel is using it to justify the kilings.

I can't look around for it at work, but it shows the Israeli troops roping down onto the ship, and the first few getting attacked with crowbars and pipes, and then another soldier getting thrown overboard. Real chaos with the activists beating the crap out of the first few on deck.

When enough commandos are on deck, they start to pull out their guns, and when activists don't back up, shoot them (the video stops right as you see them point their guns (MP5s?) at the crowd.

So probably not a smart idea by Israel, but the activists sure as hell weren't peaceful.

Aren't there other ways to get "aid" to gaza than through Israeli territory?

This is all bullshit. Everyone knows Obama brought peace to the Middle East. He got a Nobel Peace Prize for it. This is clearly some sort of mass delusion.

I thought Obama got the peace prize for not being Bush, and bringing calm to the liberal left.

What a great idea!
But not nearly as confrontational or newsworthy.

I think you can go through Eygpt, but they are even more severe and heavy handed than the Israelis.

Of course, that never makes the news.

From here
Was there another route for this aid?

The Israeli government said it would allow humanitarian aid on the flotilla into Gaza through its normal channels. An IDF spokesman said the vessels "refused to comply with an invitation to come to Ashdod port where they could transfer aid into the Gaza strip." Audrey Bomse, legal advisor to the Free Gaza Movement, told CNN the group did not believe the Israelis would let the cargo into Gaza and that the cargo also included reconstruction aid which Israel does not allow into Gaza

I've seen multiple articles where the Israelis have said they would take the aid to the people in Gaza. This is a publicity stunt, pure and simple. The fact they were using paint ball guns means they were definitely playing with kid gloves.
Wadda mean? Other people can read this?!

Why aren't all the neighboring, rich muslim countries with all the oil helping the palestinians live high on the hog? They could make them all so (relatively) rich that no one would give a shit about "zion occupancy" or whatever the fuck.

We con the world

A bit repetitive, and probably not as funny as they think it is, but they do make some excellent points about what went on during that raid that are ignored by the MSM and the morons of the world who think people who employ suicide bombers against civilian targets are the "good guys" who just want peace.

Reuters doctored photos of the raid.

Journalistic integrity apparently means cutting weapons held by the "peaceful" activists out of photos.

Guess if you can't make your point with the truth you cheat. I'm pretty sure there isn't anything that makes me madder. Someone coloring the truth to make me see things there way. Just give me the facts and let ME decide.

Sometimes they forget to crop (also a Reuters photo):

The Israeli embargo has left the Gaza Strip without electricity. To emphasize its plight the Palestinian Parliament met by candlelight on Tuesday

Well, the parliament isn't on the Gaza Strip. The candlelight things is a political stunt, and you can't have a good political stunt if you don't block out reality first.

As to the picture cropping, in this case Reuters' explanation is probably true. The image looks pretty evenly cropped all around, so it probably was just someone doing what they always do without paying attention. Not that incompetence is a defense, but it's more common and more likely than malicious intent.

Their nickname is "Al Reuters." They have a long and glorious history of photoshopping images to make a biased point. "Malice" should by no means be dismissed out of hand.
