Very shitty that someone destroyed her creation. There's no cause for that whatsoever.
However, I would love to ask the artist a question: Instead of making a piece of art that condemns anti-Muslim feelings post 9/11, why not make a piece of art that condemns the "extremist Muslims" who caused 9/11, and thus, the anti-Muslim feelings post 9/11?

I'm not into hate speech or vandalism, but couldn't the 'vandals' have been contributing to the concept of the piece. It was a wall with racial slurs and they highlighted some words and drew robots?!? Obviously, it was an ignorant thing to do, but doesn't that highlight racism in general?
I agree with you, Leisher, I think a condemnation of extremist would be more constructive.

Not that I recall ever hearing about, but I assume I miss things from time to time.
In reality the vast majority of people in this country fall all over themselves to NOT be perceived as anti-muslim. I don't have any idea where this "anti muslim hate crime awareness" crap even comes from.
Can it be simply ego... people want to show off other people how sensitive they are to social issues? "See, you know I am smart and enlightened because I care about other people and cultures A LOT. Aren't I just an awesome person? Plus you know the average republican hates brown people, and you can see how I distance myself from THAT group."
edit - Additionally, I would bet $10 that more Synagogues have been desecrated in this country than mosques, since 9/11, even adjusting for numbers.

It's not me, it's someone else.

In marriage there is always one person right. And the other one is the husband.
